ACS Legal Harassing Scam Phone Calls Irvine California

A fellow associate and I received very similar harassing phone calls at work.

After reading some of the reports on Ripoff Report we noted that the scenario and details of these calls were almost identical to what we had experienced. The names of the calling individuals changed: David Jones, Rick Jones, John Smith, Alex Brown etc. Very American sounding names however the voices were foreign accented.....India?? Pakistan??? African??? making it almost impossible to understand everything.

The calls were very threatening. When you state you don't know anything about this they tell you that they have sent (pick a number) of e-mails to which you have not answered. I asked if they had proof that these emails had been opened and read by me but was told that was none of their business!

I also requested that they fax a copy of the affidavit so that I could read it but was told that "they don't do that".....and the person continued to read it to me. I told the person I knew this was a scam and oh my, I got disconnected. He then called me back and accused me of hanging up on him. I again stated that I would not give him any information until I received a fax of the affidavit.

I also asked how he acquired my SS# and my work phone #. He then angrily said, "Ma'am let me remind you that I am the attorney here, not you!" I then said, "Well, I hope you're a good one 'cause you're gonna need one when I get thru with you!!!" He hung up!!
