Adrian Freedman is the head of the Santo Daime Church in the UK which operates under the name of Eternal Heart Centre at Companies House UK. In 2010 , he was caught importing Ayahuasca (a DMT containing substance) into the UK, and was put on bail for two years pending trial.

http://www.bialabate.net/news/unexpected-turn-of-events-in-the-uk-santo-daime-trial-by-adrian-freedman-and-jane-liddell

to quote the site  After two years on bail awaiting trial in the criminal courts in London, and just a few weeks before the start of pre-trial hearings, the case against two leaders of the Santo Daime Church in the UK has been dramatically dropped after the Crown Prosecution Service decided to abandon their case.

and

However the situation is far from over, as the Prosecution also wrote in their letter that It is not accepted that the N-Dimethyltrptamie (DMT) found in the tea falls outside prohibition imposed by the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. In other words they still maintain that ayahuasca is illegal and so fresh attempts to import it could result in arrest or prosecution.

Quite where this leaves us in terms of next steps is difficult to say, at least until after the next court hearing, but both Adrian and Jane are committed to continuing this battle until the use of the Daime as a sacrament is given the legal recognition it deserves.

Adrian Freedman then set up an underground Santo Daime Church in Portugal, and despite what happened in 2010, then encouraged members of the Church to drive Santo Daime across borders illegally.

If something is illegal, or potentially illegal, the first thing to do is to clearly respect law.

Rather than importing gallons of a potentially illegal substance through customs, as the Church did in the run up to 2010 (declared as something else to avoid detection), asking proper permission from the authorities might be more appropriate, whether that be by asking a Court, or seeking permission from the police.

Santo Daime Church members often do ‘Daime runs’ which involves transporting sacrament in cars, in a clandestine manner from places such as Italy (where it is legal) to Portugal, which clearly involves driving through France.

This is done to bring the Daime to people in other countries.

Sometimes, if you get involved with the Church, you can get a free plane ticket if you import some Daime. If you get caught at the airport or a border and face prison, the Church will then ask its followers for big donations to help to prevent you going to prison!?

One might ask why the Santo Daime Church promotes this behaviour, and instead does not simply stick with countries where it has the permission ?

If you have been caught in a country, and narrowly avoided prison, doing it elsewhere, and flouting laws in Europe, is highly questionable.

The Church then plays the victim card and emails its followers, asking for large donations to help with legal defence, when members are caught, doing the above (transporting a potentially illegal substance across a border with full knowledge of the risks).

This is NOT the way to get respect from the authorities.

A member of Adrian Freedman’s Santo Daime Church, as well as an ‘associate’ of his, was arrested with 14 kilos of cannabis in 2016, by the Portugal GNR, and he was importing large amounts of Santo Daime, in concentrate form, in ways to avoid customs and police detection.

The police now know that Ayahuasca Retreat Centres are places where illegal substances, including cannabis, might be found, a big blow for the Free Daime movement

Next :- Do NOT then encourage, condone or promote any kind of other potentially illegal activity, especially connected with other banned substances, including cannabis.

For some reason, despite the opinions of the founding father Mestre Irineu, Adrian Freedman thought that the use of cannabis at Santo Daime gatherings (in a country where it is an arrestable offence) was wise.

Because what then happens, is people in the Santo Daime Church decide to grow cannabis, and then get caughtSee:-

https://santodaimescandal.wordpress.com/2017/08/16/santo-daime-church-members-face-prison-after-being-caught-with-big-sacks-of-cannabis/

It seems then, the detriment in this matter is clearly the fault of the Portugal Santo Daime Church and Adrian Freedman, for allowing cannabis to be used in the works, and then encouraging others to bring and share, which then necessitates the production and cultivation of an illegal substance, all against the teachings of the founding father of their very own Church!

As the movement allows cannabis to be used in works, and has ignored previous feedback about how it degrades awareness, it clearly brought about its own troubles, hardly supportive to the Santo Daime movements desire to procure freedom for the sacrament.

This tells the authorities that the Church does not respect law, and its members are involved in other illegal things, and then how can one expect respect from the authorities

See proof of Santo Daime Importation case in UK, as well as screenshots showing police tweets of cannabis found in Portugal as well as a link to where his follower Johannes, shows he is in trouble with the police:-

Adrian Freedman said that the Church never assumes responsibility for what people do but he is one of the seniors of the Church, who imports Santo Daime tea across borders, gets into trouble, and promotes cannabis use at retreats.

Three Ayahuasca Retreat Centres in Portugal were destroyed by fire in 2017 - The Warnings about the Dangers of Abusing the Medicine was Ignored by Adrian Freedman

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Thursday, October 19, 2017
As a Spiritual Mentor, having once travelled the world, I saw many a retreat centre lost to fire. Sometimes I foresaw it, other times not. But there was always a common denominator, namely that the centre was used for Ayahuasca ceremonies.

Ayahuasca ceremonies involve large numbers of people coming to the land to consume Ayahuasca, sometimes with cannabis, and by and large, many people come to such events with a weak ethical and moral grounding. When used with cannabis, such ceremonies can have a negative side effect, namely that of degrading ethical and moral awareness in participants.

Often attendees (and hosts/leaders) believe there is no consequence of 50-100 people purging out karmic vomit into the energy of a land, but in truth, it causes big problems for nature spirits, devas and the purity of the land, if this cleansing is not handled properly, and overseen by skilled and trained shamans. It is because such energy pollution attracts lower astral energies that degrade the land, and sow the seeds for a purifying fire.

This also partially explains why some structures are unburned (surrounded by destruction) and why other structures are burned to the ground.

Fire is intelligent.

In this particular fire, there was also another contributing factor caused by karmic transference.

It was because the owners of another retreat centre in Portugal believed they were wise and knew better, but yet decided to grow 14 kilos of cannabis at a publically advertised Ayahuasca retreat centre !?

They were arrested for the offence, and face trial, and prison. They then thought a Spiritual Mentor was responsible for their choices (a deference of responsibility) and one individual decided to pay me a visit and threaten to cause me a hospital visit, or to be wheelchaired, or to be killed (proof in associated reports)

Associates and members of the Santo Daime Church / Adrian Freedman spent months insulting me, not apologizing, posting virile insults about me online, and making death threats.

I knew there would be disaster because every time this happened, I had visions of fire, and I wrote down the prophecies (and told the police) that I foresaw retreat centres burning down.

Those prophecies came true and THREE Ayahuasca Centres in Portugal have been totally destroyed by fire in 2017.

This is an example of where metaphysical effects of Ayahuasca use (and its abuse) can have very serious and unfortunate consequences. Unfortunately, this phenomenon is little understood, because astral awareness can only be effectively integrated into one's being, if one has a strong grounding in respect, grounding, moral integrity, truth and humility (to the Higher Power).

If those conditions are not there, and people are not trained in developing these virtues by their leaders, trouble is inevitable and karma calls to present difficult lessons.

When a fire takes everything away, it teaches humility and respect for nature, and in my life, I often see such events following retreat centres being very popular, hosting many Ayahuasca retreats, without respecting the medicine, or without the right awareness, and then trouble comes.

Thus there are clearly lessons in this for all those who have retreat centres to respect medicine, Spiritual Mentors, the land, the nature spirits and to make sure the land is not being degraded by Ayahuasca ceremonies run in the wrong way, or attended by those inexperienced at handling / or abusing - the astral forces, its power and its teachings.

Adrian Freedman did not respect my wisdom, the lessons or the prophecies, in which I warned of the dangers of abusing the Ayahuasca / Santo Daime, and now THREE retreat centres, involved / associated with him, have been destroyed in the wildfires that affected Portugal.

It serves as a salutary lesson to Ayahuasca leaders like Adrian Freedman, the importance of respecting the medicine.

Adrian Freedman refuses to apologize for homosexual peodophile insult - it turns out Santo Daime Church does NOT have legal permission to operate in Portugal

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Saturday, October 07, 2017

Adrian Freedman refused to sign a letter apologizing for his Church calling me a homosexual peodophile because of how I looked in a picture. That insult came from a mamber of the Cascais Santo Daime Church, who also admitted that the practices of Santo Daime here are not legal yet (because they admitted they were in an open process to secure legalization).

As a leader of the movement, who faced serious troubles in the UK, one might ask why Adrian came here, knowing that
he did not have the permission and then invited and organized many gatherings here.

Instead, associates of its leader, think that labelling me a homosexual peodophile, will bring success and well-being to
its movement.

In an email to ADRIAN FREEDMAN I gave this feedback:-

It would appear that the karmic consequence of such actions is further prohibition for the sacrament here, police
investigations, prison sentences, raids and attention from the wrong sources, all because your movement does not
really respect the Santo Daime, nor does it respect law.

It might continue here, but it would risk so much trouble, and is people being imprisoned or caused other troubles by
authorities that do not like what you do here.

As you can see, my energy field presents tough lessons, and serious consequences to wanton abuse, disrespect or
similar in the interests of advancing your movement and/or Ayahuasca in Portugal, and thus in this country, it is pretty
much ruined.

It is not in Italy, as the souls there are purer, more respecting and do not have the hubris and the land is intolerant of
light-worker parasite energy - so there, is clearly, where to work, and not here.

That explains the previous visions of the spilling of the Daime and shows that in the end, you cannot just come here
and pollute the land, and promote sloppy, amoral and respect-less behaviour (as well as illegal behaviour) and
believe there is no responsibility, nor any consequence, from doing so.

That, it would seem, is the root cause of your downfall/degradation.

It is a shame that such a pure sacrament can bring to light so much darkness and dysfunction, but then again, clearly,
that is what needs healing in your movement, shown to you as a result of me being threatened with death by those in
your movement who think they are wise Ayahuasca experts and gateways for awareness, but really, Johannes
brought you all demise and trouble, and maybe for many years, all of you have to pay a very heavy price for
Johannes mistakes, and the mistakes of those who blessed his evils, as he prepares for a long spell in prison.

Of course, on a higher level there is forgiveness, but in reality, your movement may find the redemption for all this
somewhat elusive, until it finds itself able to apologize and take responsibility, but I sense, instead it will have to learn
through chaos, further troubles with the authorities, pain, suffering and many other troubles, until it learns the deeper
lessons.

.....

In the end what has been revealed is that the Santo Daime Church in Portugal does not have proper legal permission, yet some centres set up (including this one:-

ripoffreport.com/reports/ayahuasca-ceremonies-in-portugal-sanctuary-1860-ayahuasca-retreat/oliveira-do-hospital-/ayahuasca-ceremonies-in-portugal-sanctuary-1860-ayahuasca-retreat-earth-connection-port-1379720

and then get involved in growing cannabis illegally, and basically just saying to the authorities, we do not have permission to import Ayahuasca, but our family members grow cannabis and get arrested

How that helps the movements cause for legalization of the Daime is beyond my understanding, and now the police know that Ayahuasca and Santo Daime people are involved in growing illegal cannabis, insulting and threatening trial witnesses and basically not taking responsibility for their behaviour.

An apology for being labelled a homosexual peodophile by the Santo Daime Church still stands.

That was made by an associate of Adrian Freedman who runs the Monte Mariposa retreat centre in Tavira, Portugal, which runs Adrian Freedmans Ayahuasca retreats. They had to apologize to me for saying I started a deadly fire and I was threatened with death because I had personal problems (see here) and then another employee said I started them after all, and I would be reported to the police because I was a homosexual peodophile !?

These are the kinds of people Adrian Freedman associates with, and then he wonders why his movement gets into disrepute?

He wanted me not to cause untold troubles to his movement, but all I was doing was reflecting back lessons in responsibility, and why threatening me with death and associating with those who threaten as such makes bad luck, but really, the untold troubles is down to what is not resolved in his movement:-

Of course, on a higher level there is forgiveness, but in reality, your movement may find the redemption for all this
somewhat elusive, until it finds itself able to apologize and take responsibility, but I sense, instead it will have to learn
through chaos, further troubles with the authorities, pain, suffering and many other troubles, until it learns the deeper
lessons.

I was labelled a homosexual peodophile by a member of the Cascais Santo Daime Church / Police arrests for Ayahuasca Santo Daime in Lisbon and Cascais cities

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, October 03, 2017

I was labelled a homosexual peodophile by a member of the Cascais Santo Daime Church

The words I received in a very nasty email were:-

Looking at this Picture (web link removed), you look more like a homossexual pedophile

and

then they said

We informed ourselves and the police that this church in Lisbon Cascais have an open process for legalization of their practices.

which means the Santo Daime is NOT legal here, and the proof is here

http://infocatolica.com/blog/infories.php/1110071259-operacion-de-la-policia-portu

It is a page about a police operation for Ayahuasca / Santo Daime, and it says:-

The Portuguese Judicial Police has seized about 30 liters of a hallucinogenic substance when carrying out the arrest of a man in flagrante delicto during a police operation that took place in the cities of Lisbon and Cascais. As reported by the Judicial Police, the importation and trafficking of this hallucinogenic substance, which is ayahuasca , can be sentenced with sentences of four to twelve years in prison. The Portuguese medium TVI4 tells .

In a communiqué, the Judicial Police explains that during a police action in Lisbon and Cascais on October 4, approximately 30 liters of ayahuasca, a substance containing DMT (dimethyltryptamine), were seized, and a 60-year-old man was detained . They also found containers with about 26 liters of ayahuasca and seven grams of cannabis.

The detainee was placed in the hands of the Tribunal, which has decreed coercive measures of identity and residence term, obligation to report weekly to the criminal police and prohibition of absent from the country and contact Santo Daime religious organization

This organization is a religious manifestation born in the Amazon region in the first decades of the twentieth century, and consists of a spiritual doctrine that is based on the "sacramental" use of ayahuasca in order to catalyze inner and spiritual processes with the aim of achieve the well-being of the person.

According to Jornal de Notícias , the Portuguese Judicial Police is investigating whether ayahuasca was given to children.

ADRIAN FREEMAN of the Santo Daime Church / Eternal Heart MUSIC , has been invited to formally condemn the behaviour in some to be made public, apology letters

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, October 03, 2017

ADRIAN FREEMAN of the Santo Daime Church / Eternal Heart MUSIC , has been invited to formally condemn the behaviour in some to be made public, apology letters.

As a leader, it falls to him to take responsibility for those who have fallen from the Path and descended into immoral behaviour, fostered by poor values in the Santo Daime Church, and a culture of not taking responsibility, and blaming others, or the war on drugs, for their misfortunes.

I asked ADRIAN FREEDMAN to formally sign apology letters to condemn the behaviour complained of, which contain these words:-

On behalf of the Santo Daime Church in the UK and Portugal, I unreservedly and sincerely apologize for the distress caused to you and your partner because of the death threats made by someone in our movement connected with an ongoing police investigation, who was arrested with a large amount of cannabis and other illegal substances.

We must now accept some moral responsibility for the matter, because Johannes Maasland was a member of our Church, who participated in our retreats often, and through us, was introduced to the Path of the Santo Daime.

His behaviours are not ones we bless, condone or support.

He has shown himself to be reckless, morally irresponsible and respect-less for the law of the land and he is clearly unsuited to the work.

We have examined the death threats made which implies you could be killed before the police can do anything about it.

Because these threats were made by one within our wider community we are deeply hurt and shocked by what has happened.

We confirm our movement condemns such despicable behaviour, and we encourage people in our wider communities to respect the laws of the land and to respect life.

Johannes behaviour brings shame and dishonour to us all, and reflects badly on us as a whole and we do not condone the illegal cultivation of cannabis.

This matter has shown is the importance of ethical awareness and moral integrity in what we do, as you have pointed out, and we acknowledge over the years that there has been weaknesses in those areas, and now, strive to learn from this experience.

We also acknowledge there are other lessons that this matter has presented to us, and we now know that we must take them seriously in all the work that we do, so that this never happens again.

We have decided to make a priority, the development of ethical and moral awareness, in all who attend our gatherings, so that we can promote good and respectable behaviour, respect for law and respect for other people.

We accept that these ethical, moral and spiritual lessons have been presented to us, at great cost, danger and risk to yourself and your partner – and that your role in our movement, has clearly been to reflect back big lessons at the risk of serious injury, or even death, a matter that is deeply troubling for us.

AND

In addition to the letter apologizing for death threats made by Johannes Maasland –on behalf of the Santo Daime Church in the UK and Portugal, I also unreservedly and sincerely apologize for the distress caused to you and your partner because of the other abuses posted online by him and ‘friends’ of The Sanctuary 1860.

Some of those postings labelled you mentally ill as well as suggesting you should feel fear in your trousers, or be killed before the police can help.

His postings were insulting, degrading, disgusting and not representative of how we expect any of our followers to behave in their daily lives.

We must now accept some moral responsibility for the matter, because Johannes Maasland was a member of our Church, who participated in our retreats often, and through us, was introduced to the Path of the Santo Daime, and who indirectly, with the help of Daniela Markert (aka Daniela Mar), founded The Sanctuary 1860.

The Sanctuary 1860 was founded by members of our Santo Daime Church, who have clearly lost their moral way in their quest to be number one in Portugal for Ayahuasca.

This whole sorry tale has been a wake-up call for us in the importance of ethical practice as you say, and in the light of this we will endeavour to do all we can to bring more clarity and grounding to every aspect of our practice, both in and out of the workshops.

Thank you for being such a beacon of uncompromising integrity, hopefully others may learn from your example.

In the case of Johannes Maasland, he seems like an extremely unstable and maverick character, totally unsuited to this kind of work.

His behaviours are not ones we bless, condone or support and we confirm that we no longer support his activities, or the activities of his family, or that of The Sanctuary 1860, in any way whatsoever, and their operations and activities are NOT blessed by the Santo Daime Church.

We condemn all the abuses that you have witnessed at the hands of Johannes Maasland and The Sanctuary 1860 and encourage all those in our movement to take responsibility for their mistakes.

We do not condone the illegal cultivation of cannabis in our movement.

We are appalled by some of the behaviours that have occurred, and are deeply ashamed about what has happened and it reflects badly on all of us.

We expect all who attend our gatherings to respect the laws of the land and to behave themselves responsibly in their lives and will remind our followers, in future events, to do so.

He has so far refused to sign the letters provided.

Opinion - He faces an ethical and moral leadership crisis and dilemma, either to apologize to someone who was subjected to great physical danger by presenting the lessons (and by doing so condemn those involved in Ayahuasca, which usually is not in his interests, as he needs places to host retreats and people to grow cannabis) or to play the victim card and be seen to condone people behaving irresponsibly and making death threats.

His movement wants freedom for the sacrament, but if the authorities see he does not condemn the illegal cultivation of cannabis, and supports those involved in such, the authorities may not see his activities so favourably.

The Main Santo Daime Church website is explicity AGAINST the use of cannabis in Santo Daime ceremonies / Adrian Freedman has disrespected the wishes of the founding father of the Santo Daime Church

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Sunday, September 24, 2017

The Main Santo Daime Church website is explicity AGAINST the use of cannabis in Santo Daime ceremonies / Adrian Freedman has disrespected the wishes of the founding father of the Santo Daime Church.

That is clearly stated here:-

santodaime.com/en/asks/#07

It says

07. IS IT TRUE THAT PEOPLE SMOKE MARIJUANA TOGETHER WITH SANTO DAIME?

If we analyze the foundation rules of the center of Our Master Raimundo Irineu Serra, it becomes clear that he was absolutely against the use of that substance, and we follow him in that decision. Firstly, because it won’t bring us any good and secondly because that substance is forbidden by law and we have the obligation to be responsible citizens.

Master Irineu was the original founding father of the Santo Daime Church which brought the hallucinogenic tea to the West in the form of a religion, which the Church then use to defend themselves against importing the substance across borders, with varying degrees of success. When it fails, the Church plays the victim card.

The website also states that people have the right to be responsible citizens and that clearly anything forbidden by law, should be respected as such.

But it did not stop Adrian Freedman promoting cannabis use, which degrades moral and ethical awareness, and leads people to take stupid risks, growing cannabis in publically advertised retreat centres

ripoffreport.com/reports/earth-connection-portugal/internet/earth-connection-portugal-johannes-maasland-daniela-markert-breathwork-and-ayahuasca-ret-1368711

because there are many people attending the ceremonies, who want to use cannabis.

Many of the problems in the Portugal Santo Daime Church (including arrests and busts for cannabis cultivation) can be attributed to the Santo Daime Church in Portugal having a lax attitude toward mixing cannabis and Santo Daime, even though that went against the teachings and wishes of the founding father of the Daime Church, Mestre Irineu.

Others in the movement have alluded to marijuana degenerates morals and ethics (as is self-evident in Portugal)

As the movement allows cannabis to be used in works, and has ignored previous feedback about how it degrades awareness, it clearly brought about its own troubles:-

santodaimescandal.wordpress.com/2017/08/16/santo-daime-church-members-face-prison-after-being-caught-with-big-sacks-of-cannabis/

As I was threatened with death by someone in the Church growing the cannabis, for the works, and who is in police trouble, the lesson is clearly that Santo Daime and cannabis do not mix (in countries where cannabis is not legal)

It also explains why those Centres in Portugal who do not allow people to use cannabis in ceremony, are suffering no detriment, so cannabis in the Portugal works has degraded the Daime family there.

It seems the cannabis culture in Portugal is part of the problem, and because it erodes ethics and morality, it also explains why I have been abused and threatened with death, for presenting the lesson, for those involved smoked, and grew, much cannabis, encouraged by the Church because cannabis was given out and openly smoked at the works, and people were told it was ok if they brought enough to share.

Adrian Freedman’s mistake then, was to allow people to use illegal substances at his gatherings in Portugal, because then people need to grow the cannabis so they can bring enough to share, and so, he supports illegal activity in Portugal, of that, there is no doubt, and thus he is responsible for his own detriment.

Enough to share at a work of 50-100 people (at a modest half a joint each, that would be 25-50 joints), that would certainly require people to break the law, because also they would not want to share all that they had, and there are many works in a single cannabis growing season.

Image result for johannes cannabis

This explains why Johannes Maasland grew much cannabis and in the picture there are three big sacks and many pots of it as well.

Adrian Freedman may claim he does not have responsibility, but he does allow cannabis to be used in his Santo Daime retreats, so that fosters a culture where people might be inspired to grow cannabis to bring to the retreats.

I told some of his fiscales in Italy that people were not respecting the cannabis and that it can degrade awareness, but they were not bothered.

If the Church had not allowed cannabis at the retreats, things might be different.

It was somewhat unfortunate I was subjected to threats and harassment, because I attended the Church for many years, and know many things about how it operates.

In times when they thought I was sleeping, I overheard conversations about plans to transport sacrament across borders, how that involved free plane tickets, and donations to help with legal funding should it go wrong and there is an arrest.

Usually it is not my business if people are involved in illegal activity, but once me or my family is subjected to harm and danger by Adrian's Church, then of course, I tell the police what I know.

I was subjected to death threats and other virile disturbances by members of Adrian Freedman Santo Daime Church. Here is the proof that some of them are in police trouble.

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Friday, September 22, 2017

I was subjected to death threats by members of Adrian Freedman's Santo Daime Church and friends of his, a Church that imports DMT containing 'Ayahuasca tea' into various countries for their ceremonies.

There is conclusive proof in the associated reports.

Ayahuasca has an uncertain legality, as the original report shows the trouble Adrian had in the Uk with regard to importing Ayahuasca tea.

His Church also uses cannabis in their ceremonies, another substance not entirely legal in Portugal.

Members of his Church try and emulate Adrian Freedman, because they want to be the number 1 in Portugal for Ayahuasca. In my opinion, Adrian has a naviety that allows him to bless such endeavours, even when the people are not trained.

Thus is movement is in essence a religion, that aims to spread the Daime around, with little consequence as to the consequences, until someone like me is threatened with death, and thus must reflect back sorely needed moral lessons.

I said to him in an email:-

The lesson is clearly in taking responsibility and it seems for many years, your movement, and many in it, have
struggled with that lesson.

By and large 'light-workers' do not take responsibility, and instead create karmas, and this explains why your
movement is so degraded.

It is clear your movement has a big problem, in that it wants to spread the Daime light at all costs, regardless of what
effects it has on the land, on others, or who has to be degraded in the name of your Free Daime movement.
Your movement wants it to be available as cheaply as possible at all costs (Nancy's area it seems), but then it
somehow collectively believes I will absorb the resultant loss of such a flawed strategy, that fosters
disrespect, trouble and expensive mistakes later.

If the leader of a movement cannot take responsibility, then how are people within it ever going to do so, and thus
morally and ethically, you must, to show a good example and to rescue the questionable moral integrity of your own
movement.

It would appear that your movement is hindered by that shortcoming, and that is the clear lesson here. This is why
no-one else takes responsibility either because they followed your example, which is to play the poor me / victim story
with regard to the war on drugs / Daime persecution.

The truth is also, your movement cannot afford to not be 'slick' to quote you from 2014. It imports Daime in a climate
of legal uncertainty, and in a time where your movement wants respect and sanction from the authorities.
Yet if its followers do not respect the Daime, its power, themselves, the land, or other people, then how can you ever
get the right respect from the authorities?

It may not seem a big deal to give feedback about people coming late to works as they choose, not paying for
chocolates or books, talking loudly after works, or smoking cannabis and drinking beer loudly after works, but in time,
these small failings in respect compound and make bigger karma later.

Clearly, you must rethink and reevaluate your whole approach, and foster good behaviour in those who come to your
gatherings.

The problem is that people taking a hallunicongenic substance, adminstered by Adrian can go astray without the right moral direction, especially when used with cannabis, for cannabis often degrades awareness, makes people zone out and lose grounding, and then they can fall into an ethical and moral torpor.

Such a combination can make people believe they are invicible and led to a publically advertised Ayahuasca centre where many people come, deciding to grow vast amounts of cannabis, on land with no fences, and where many new people come and go, and in an area where police drones regularly look for cannabis !?

The Centre was run by Johannes Maasland and he was arrested in November 2014:-

noticiasdecoimbra.pt/gnr-apreende-14-kilos-cannabis/

with 14 kilos of cannabis and LSD.

He is a member of Adrian Freedmans Santo Daime Church who set up Earth Connection Portugal, partially with the aim of running Santo Daime retreats (with cannabis) there. He is also a close associate of Adrian Freedman.

His business closed after the arrest and here are the details:-

ripoffreport.com/reports/earth-connection-portugal/internet/earth-connection-portugal-johannes-maasland-daniela-markert-breathwork-and-ayahuasca-ret-1368711

He then went on to threaten me with death on several occasions as well as labelling me mentally sick, evil, criminal and the like, a behaviour that comes under harassment of witnesses in a Criminal Trial - here is the proof of that:-

ripoffreport.com/reports/johannes-maasland-earth-connection-portugal-partnered-with-sanctuary-1860-bb-ayahuasca-ceremonies-retreats-portugal/oliveira-do-hospital-/johannes-maasland-earth-connection-portugal-partnered-with-sanctuary-1860-bb-ayahuasca-1384150

If that is not enough, other members of his Church, who set up Ayahuasca retreat centres, and owned retreat centres went on to support the behaviour (they are also members of Adrian Freedman's Church) went on to call me a s******, a conman and a liar, insinuating I was making it up about Johannes cannabis arrest, but the proof is very clear and on the other report one can see the police summons and the case reference number.

These people are the Sanctuary1860 also under police investigation for their role because police found illegal drugs in the family:-

ripoffreport.com/reports/sanctuary-1860-ayahuasca-retreat-centre-portugal/internet/sanctuary-1860-ayahuasca-retreat-centre-portugal-ayahuasca-ceremonies-in-portugal-johann-1372990

They claimed I made up dates of the police tweets but the proof speaks for itself.

Recently it appears Adrian Freedman's Church stopped supplying Ayahuasca / Santo Daime to the Sanctuary as their website now says they make their own on site (or they say they make it to mask the truth, one cannot really be sure)

But all the above people and Centres, all have one common denominator.  They were ALL introduced to the Santo Daime through Adrian Freedmans Church and all display poor morals, bad ethics and issues with substances/police raids/investigations.

As I was subjected to serious harm and danger, and made to feel fear, or it was implied that we might be hurt if we testify (one member said I would be killed before the police can do anything about it - see other report about Johannes Maasland for proof) I insisted that Adrian Freedman take proper responsibility and denounce the behaviour, at this time, he has NOT done that.

The achilles heel that his movement has, is that it is dependant on people willing to take chances with the law, to sneak Daime tea across borders, to grow cannabis illegally, and people who are willing to make violent threats to try and silence people who are summoned to testify about the behaviour.

When Adrian Freedman does not denounce the behaviour, one can draw their nown conclusions as to his integrity, and what he is willing to turn a blind eye to in the name of his Free Santo Daime movement.

Most Importantly:-

It imports Daime in a climate of legal uncertainty, and in a time where your movement wants respect and sanction from the authorities in the face of ongoing arrests at airports and at borders.

Yet if its followers do not respect the Daime, its power, themselves, the land, or other people, then how can you ever get the right respect from the authorities?

OPINIONS - Light-worker 'Hubris' is the cause of many of the troubles in the Portugal Santo Daime / Ayahuasca scene, as is a flouting of cannabis cultivation laws.

OPINIONS

Light-worker 'Hubris' is the cause of many of the troubles in the Portugal Santo Daime / Ayahuasca scene

The bottom line is that Portugal has been seen as a soft place for light-worker expats for many years to come and live
on the land, to do retreats , to not pay taxes, to disrespect the locals and the land, to claim they are gateways for
wisdom and to grow cannabis.

Many people think one is allowed to grow cannabis here because it is a soft place, and that one is allowed to grow 5
plants and to sell the yield, but on the GNR website and the internet there are arrest records and references to people
being sent to prison for just 3 plants (345g yield). Every year, the GNR bust many cannabis farms throughout
Portugal and the law on cannabis cultivation is outlined here:-

https://sensiseeds.com/en/blog/legal-status-cannabis-portugal-overview/

Leaders and operators of retreat centres and Santo Daime groups would clearly know that and would have done their
research. If they then support illegal cannabis activities, as they do, and they or their people get caught, then
responsibility clearly lies with the leaders, and the centres who condone such activity.

The same can be said for Ayahuasca, that Portugal is seen as a soft country for importing it under the table, or
sneaking it in through Spain and France (illegally), but getting caught for it in one country and then doing it in another is a recipe for trouble,

https://santodaimescandal.wordpress.com/2017/08/20/how-to-secure-freedom-for-the-santo-daime-ayahuasca-sacrament-how-to-avoid-police-trouble-and-scandal/

The Santo Daime Church and Adrian Freedman have a cause called 'Free Santo Daime' which means they want to free themselves of persecution by the authorities for Ayahuasca use / importation for their gatherings.

This cause is clearly hampered if the followers of the movement get caught with cannabis as shown here:-

https://santodaimescandal.wordpress.com/2017/08/16/santo-daime-church-members-face-prison-after-being-caught-with-big-sacks-of-cannabis/

Lightworker 'hubris' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ is so rife in Portugal, and is compounded by people drinking

large amounts of Santo Daime without any respect for morals and awareness, and in essence, behaving like
parasites on the land and disrespectful of the divine powers. It manifests in people believing they are immune to law
and karma, and know it all, and can come here and do what they like, without any awareness of moral responsibility
or consequence.

Once that is mixed with Ayahuasca and Daime works, then the powers of the astral are drawn into what is in essence
heavy duty, mucky, and toxic karma.

People often believe that drinking Ayahuasca and invoking the astral powers has no consequence, but this is a very
serious error in spiritual judgment, one compounded by the actions of leaders who allow their groups to be sloppy and who foster moral weakness, criminal behaviour, inflated egos and all other manner of karmic maladies, that in the end, ensure trouble.

The idea of using Santo Daime is to move closer to God, but this clearly means surrendering one's ego and not reinforcing ego behaviours to the point of hubris, which causes people to make decisions that seem to baffle common sense, and decisions that lead to their downfall or detriment.

It shows that leaders of movements who administer shamanic / hallucinogenic medicines to large numbers of people, clearly have the moral obligation to be mindful of what they are doing, and to make sure people come with the right respect. If they then do not assume responsibility, then they are just creating conditions for many people to get caught up in big ego illusions and blunder into big trouble dazzled by the light of the Daime, but hampered by an absence of moral awareness and a realization that actions have consequences.

Here is what happened from the perspective of a witness

AUTHOR: anonymous witness - (none)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 19, 2017

I personally witnessed my partner being threatened with serious, crippling injury and death by Johannes Maasland, who had entered our apartment building one night without invitation whilst on police bail, smelling strongly of alcohol (there is proof of the death threats on the associated ripoff reports).

ripoffreport.com/reports/johannes-maasland-earth-connection-portugal-partnered-with-sanctuary-1860-bb-ayahuasca-ceremonies-retreats-portugal/oliveira-do-hospital-/johannes-maasland-earth-connection-portugal-partnered-with-sanctuary-1860-bb-ayahuasca-1384150

In the course of works of the Santo Daime Church, I also witnessed Adrian Freedman engaged in a long conversation with both Mr. Maasland and his partner. I remember Adrian Freedman telling them how delighted he was to have met people with prior experience with the Daime (with the church in Holland) - in contrast to his usual customers, who have become familiar with the substance only via him. He said that was why he talked with them for such a long time, whereas he usually didn't speak much to people after a ceremony.

Therefore, I strongly suspect a connection between this talk and the sudden start of a Daime-operation run by Mr. Maasland and his partner only a few weeks later (as screenshots prove).

Because of Mr. Maasland repeating his death threats very explicitly (along with other serious verbal abuse) via the internet, I had to spend a lot of time at the local police station, reporting in detail what had occurred. Even after the written threats, Mr. Maasland was still not being arrested, so the dangerous situation continued. But more importantly, I had to watch out for my own and my partner's safety for almost 9 months now, when Mr. Maasland had entered our building. This situation has taken a heavy toll on my overall well-being, and, so far, no one has taken responsibility - neither the offender himself nor his partner or his business partners, like, as I strongly suspect and as Mr. Maasland himself had repeatedly stated, Adrian Freedman.

For more details, see:

Adrian Freedman of the Eternal Heart Centre / Santo Daime Church has been invited to take responsibility for his failings as a leader

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Monday, September 18, 2017

Adrian Freedman of the Eternal Heart Centre / Santo Daime Church has been invited to take responsibility for his failings as a leader in relation to one of his associates being caught with 14 kilos of cannabis and facing trial.

http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/johannes-maasland-earth-connection-portugal-partnered-with-sanctuary-1860-bb-ayahuasca-ceremonies-retreats-portugal/oliveira-do-hospital-/johannes-maasland-earth-connection-portugal-partnered-with-sanctuary-1860-bb-ayahuasca-1384150

Adrian Freedman had this to say on Monday 24th July 2017:-

This whole sorry tale has been a wake-up call for us in the importance of ethical practice as you say, and in the light of this we will endeavour to do all we can to bring more clarity and grounding to every aspect of our practice, both in and out of the workshops. Thank you for being such a beacon of uncompromising integrity, hopefully others may learn from your example.

However, sadly, and with all the best intentions in the world we cannot control the thoughts, words and actions of others.

In over 20 years of being involved in this movement we have never asked anyone to set up any kind of group on our behalf and have never assumed responsibility for what another person might do. In the case of JM, he seems like an extremely unstable and maverick character, totally unsuited to this kind of work.

As I mentioned before, we never asked him to do anything on behalf of us, or to be representative of us, and its most unfortunate that he should claim such a thing.

If I ever met him again I would confront him over why he is making these false claims.

In the meantime, i take this experience as a lesson and a teaching and will do my best to take advantage of the opportunity to be a better person and a better group leader.

I feel so sorry for the distress and disturbance you have suffered as a result of one person’s stupid, irresponsible behaviour, and the way it reflects badly on all of us.

By the way, I look back on our long association and i appreciate your luminous presence in all the spiritual works we shared.

Wishing peace, good health and love for you.

He was also invited on several occasions to sign a more formal public apology letter on behalf of the Santo Daime Church, after I was threatened with death and serious harm (see this report for proof):-

http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/johannes-maasland-earth-connection-portugal-partnered-with-sanctuary-1860-bb-ayahuasca-ceremonies-retreats-portugal/oliveira-do-hospital-/johannes-maasland-earth-connection-portugal-partnered-with-sanctuary-1860-bb-ayahuasca-1384150

I wanted the formal letter to rebut abuse posted by some of his Santo Daime brothers and sisters not able to take responsibility for the fact they are in police trouble, and regularly labelled me sick, twisted and mentally ill online on various sites (see report above for proof) which necessitated rounds of police reports which may lead Johannes Maasland to receive pre-trial detention (prison preventiva).

I wanted the leader of this Church, which promotes illegal cannabis cultivation/use as well as transporting sacrament across borders, to take proper responsibility and formally and publically apologize, and to denounce the behaviour.

He has refused to sign the letter, which contained these words, and required his signature.

We do not know how Johannes Maasland came to be able to import so much Santo Daime, but his behaviours are not ones we bless, condone or support.
Johannes behaviour brings shame and dishonour to us all, and reflects badly on us as a whole.

He was sent the letter again for signing on September 16th 2017 and has not responded.

Here is some more opinion about the matter, shared in the public interest:-

https://santodaimescandal.wordpress.com/2017/08/20/how-to-secure-freedom-for-the-santo-daime-ayahuasca-sacrament-how-to-avoid-police-trouble-and-scandal/

https://santodaimescandal.wordpress.com/2017/08/16/santo-daime-church-in-portugal-use-cannabis-against-wishes-of-founding-father-mestre-irineu/

There are screenshots of the abuse and threats made by some within his Church, who claim to be expert Ayahuasca guides, but clearly are not, and the images show who the people are, and what the police found at their retreat centres
