I signed an alarm monitoring contract with ADT Security Services. ADT charged me well over a $1,000 between equipment, deposits, and other charges in order to bring the system online. ADT sales rep. promised everything I asked him about the alarm system. In the contract ADT claimed that in the eent of an alarm, they woudl contact the local police department and 3 cell numbers that I had listed on the contract as contacts.

In June 2014, a robbery occured at our company, an alarm was triggered, but ADT monitoring center was caught sleeping at the wheel. ADT did not inform the police department nor did they contact any of the 3 listed cell numbers to inform them of the robbery. As a results, the thieves were able to clean up the place. We lost our business and had to close down as a result. ADT took 6 months to investigate the claim resulting in a rejected claim. ADT simply claimed that the contract that they had signed does not require them to inform anyone including the police department of the robbery that took place.

ADT claimed that they did nothing wrong. ADT claimed that their contract did not require them to call anyone.

ADT aka ADT Alarms aka ADT Security Services contract is not worth the ink it is written with. It is a scam to extract a monthly payment from you along with a hefty down payment, equipment cost, etc...

ADT alarms will make you sign a 2-3 years contract then turn around at the first alarm signal and claim that they are not required to inform anyone of the alarm. They only want to take your money without giving you the services that they had signed for.

ADT Alarms never respond to alarm signals. I tested the system repeatedly after the robbery took place, and ADT never responded to them. What is worth is that I still have to make payment on a contract the I signed that is worth nothing.
