Salesman a smooth shill working the phone together with a guy bordering on swindler. Install Saturday 10/20/2018 Installer several hours late for appointment. called after being almost 2 hours late. Installer had trouble installing system was at my home until after 7:PM Should have been easy install equipment under $900 worth provided free. Tried to sell me on lots of equipment I didn't want or need which I would have to pay for. Asked if I wanted to put the ADT app on my phone. Did not tell me it was $25 a month more. Had me sign on his notebook. Did not tell me I was signing a contract. I didn't even know there was a contract. Sales guys never mentioned it. I was never given a copy of the contract. Sales guys said my bill would be $27.99 a month because I had wifi and internet. Customer service tonight said I could not be charged $27.99 a month because I didn't have a land line. Can't get their stories straight. I called when I saw they were charging me $52.99 a month. I called October 25th and found out that I had signed a contract. They said it was emailed to me,but I never received it. They said they would email it. and I still don't have it. I requested two things a copy of the contract and the Pulse thing removed. I deleted the app from my phone.I have received neither.

A Bill arrived today. I called again tonight. Asked to have a copy of the contract. Customer service can't send me a copy of the contract. They have to order it,, but I got a bill for $72.42. A far cry from $27.99 don't you think? I removed the app and unplugged they system. Words cannot express my contempt for these disingenuous and incompetent team at ADT DO NOT TRUST THEM. SALES PEOPLE ARE SMOOTH, CORDIAL LIARS. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS IMPOTENT.

I am a senior citizen and I feel I was ripped off, and they are doing nothing to see Pulse is removed and that I get a copy of the contract.

So I want nothing to do with them.

ADT & Defenders Drama coming to a close.

AUTHOR: Susan - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 01, 2019

Well, ADT Defenders did not show up for their appointment beween 12 and2 PM on Saturday, December 15th 2018. They also did not call and explain they were going to be late. No surprise there. I gave hem an additional half hour or so and then called. No one answered the phone. Called for maybe 45 minutes and finally someone answered the phone. This was the day and time that customer priority set, not me. I told them I would not agree to a "window of time" because they haven't shown up yet on time, nor did they ever call to explain they would be late. So when I called what do you think they said? Oh, the technician is running late. LOL Gee.... why didn't they call. They were all so sorry for wasting a whole Saturday just before Christmas.

I told them to pick up their equipment on Monday at 9 am. Did they respond to my email or call? Of course, not!  Did they show up?  NO! Never heardf rom them by phone call, email or mail.

So fast forward to Saturday, December 29th. I have been sick with the flu and I am home in bed. Knock on the door comes, I ignore it because I live in a rural setting and I don't answer the door unless I know in advance you are coming. I peek around the corner. My front door is glass. Guess who is standing there, but a fell in an ADT Defender uniform. I go back to the bedroom throw on a robe and go to the door demanding to know why he is at my fornt door.e tells me, "you have an appointment with us today". Like hell I do. You may have an appoinment, but I do not. They sure set up that young man. They are the biggest liars I have ever seen. I have no doubt the young man was telling me the truth as it was scheduled and told to him, but I was not told.

Now I don't want them in my house. I do not trust them. Several weeks prior and removed all their equipment along with the decals, sign, fob and operating booklet. The only thing I couldn't remove was the panel box which is right by the door. I was going to send him away, but since he was there even though I was very sick and in my nightgown, I let him take down the panel and gave him the bag of stuff.. So soon he is fixing to leave. I ask him. Where is the receipt that shows you have picked up the equipment. Guess his reply. Unbelievable. We don't have receipts. I can't give you a reciept. Well, I siad, you are not taking this equipment out of my house without giving me receipt. I don''t want anything ADT Defenders. That's for sure.  So I gave him a sheet of paper and told him to make up a receipt. It read:

I, XXXXX  XXXXX (Tech ID ###) have removed all ADTequipment from XXXXX  XXXXX home on 12/29/18 12:40PM

He signed it and asked me to do likewise. I offered to make a copy of it for his files. He accepted. And also, so the employees at ADT Defenders would know I had proof this guy picked up the equipment making it more difficult for them to lie in the future. Plus, I had a friend on the speaker phone the whole time he was here, just in case I need a witness. I will send a copy to my credit card company also, as I disputed the charges and now I have proof to provide them.

I think Defenders does not care about there employees either. They basically threw this young technician under the bus by sending him out here. They should have sent a supervisor who should have showed up on time at a specific appointed time and apologized. I hope the young man realizes h*o how dishonest they are and finds work somewhere else.

I wish a class actions suite could be filed against them. I have seen some of the many reports filed against them and based on my personal experience, I believe them. They were dishonest from the beginning to the end.

If you have read the continuing saga, you would know I DID NOT SIGN A CONTRACT. Secondly, DEFENDERS WOULD NOT ADMIT IT THOUGH. They would never admit I hadn't signed a contract. I think they thought I would just give up being an old lady and such. They did not tell me until after I called numerous times through October, November and December. At that time, it took a supervisor to come clean.

ADT Defenders

AUTHOR: Susan - (United States)

POSTED: Saturday, December 15, 2018

Well, my continuation to the saga of ADT is being approved, but I have more to report. They were to come to pick up equipment between 10-2 today. They never showed up or called.  I said they needed to get here at 9:00 AM. So I thought okay I will wait around until 2:00 for these folks to pick up the equipment and then I will be rid of them. Well, It iwas 2:40 PM. No call. No show. I called and ripped them a good one and told them if they want there equipment they need to be at my house at 9:00 AM on the dot  Monday morning or I will not be here. I will not wait around for them to show up. I hav wasted two full Saturdays on these jokers.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM DEFENDERS, ADT.

El Cajon Complaint continues I now know Defenders Protect Your Home use ADT name and the blame goes to them.

AUTHOR: Susan - (United States)

POSTED: Saturday, December 15, 2018

Hopefully folks read my original complaint. After waiting for more than month for a copy of the so called contract I had signed I called again  I had even gone online and punched the button to get a copy of my contract.  I called Defenders once more and told them i had not received a copy of the contract either by mail or email and I was still being over charged for equipment that I did not want. No one called  to set up an appointment to pick up equipment, and no one sent me a copy of the contract.  The woman kicked into their standard bs line that I could only cancel the contract during a 3 day period and blah blah blah.  I told her she was not listening and asked to speak to her supervisor. Pretty soon we had several people on the line doing a meet and great...... Really! Finally, the same dialogue began and after a period of time the supervisor said they could NOT find a contract for me. And, I would need to speak to the customer loyalty department and they were only open 8=5 central time.

Mind you, this is after umteen phone calls all over the county (Florida, Indiana, California and who know where the other folks were). So the next day I did get a call from the customer loyalty department and she said she believed me. Thought I would be nasty and angry and I wasn't. Very simply because she llistened, admitted they screwed up bigtime and was going to cancel the contract (which didn't exist). She said I would receive a letter by email cancelling the contract even though there wasn't one. We agreed they would pick up the equipment on the 15th of December. She sent another email say they would come between 10-2. I called and told them to pick it up at 9:00AM . It is 12:10PM on the 15th. No surprise here. No show.

There were 3 charges on my credit card. $106.97, $72.42 and $52.99. I filed a dispute immediately with my credit card company. One has been reversed two are pending. It gets really funny. Some woman from Defenders calls me up and says they have double credited the $106.97. I know is isn't true because I can see my account on line. I told it was credited twice and said she needed to talk to the credit card company. She said she couldn't. I said she could and that was the only way to resolve it. We weren't getting anywhere so I hung up. And If I could show you my credit card statement I would and then you could see the only credit is the one the credit card company made because of the dispute. No credit from Defender.

$106.97 was for an installation. Humm... since when do you charge sales tax on installations in California? It is rare.

So, I get another call a few days later, as I am driving to work. Some woman calls and identifies yourself as from Defenders and wants to know how I am feeling. I told her I doubted she had called to inquire about my health and would like to know the purpose of her call. She apparently was reading off a file and didn't know if they had picked up the equipement or not. Unbelievable. I told her they had not and were scheduled to pick the equipment up on Saturday.

I have wasted so much time on these idiots, I shake my head in dispair. Two precious Saturdays wasted. I wouldn't let this people protect my goldfish, let alone my house or my person. Another entertaining aspect of this train wreck, was when the customer loyalty person offered to reduce my bill if I would stay.

They hide under ADT, Protect Your Home and Defenders. They do not reveal who they are or where they are. They do not provide phone numbers that actually bring you to a person other than sales. So today I was given numbers to call and no one picked up. They only line they would pick up was sales. I hung up before the call went through and the guy called me back. I'm sorry I almost missed your call. I said are you in sales? He hesitated and relunctantly said he was here to help and started asking me if I owned or rented my home. Sounds like sales to me.

The Icing on the cake was when the Customer care person told me they were a "Christian Company". AAHHH!Defenders and ADT have wasted a great deal of my time, been dishonest and provided rotten service. God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, Defenders has brought confusion and lies. The author of lies is the Devil. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. I have great peace that I have been protected from evil and  Defenders and ADT will be gone from my life..... they are just a soup stain on the menu of life. My menu is teflon and wipes clean.

I take the time to warn other seniors and folks like me who thought ADT was a trusted name.
