Just to follow up on an earlier report, I needed an economical office system and thought I would dowload Sun Microsystem's OpenOffice.
As I was in a hurry I assumed the offer of 24/7 service and support for US49.99 was going to Sun (and it's not that expensive when you compare it to an MS package) so I went ahead and paid via PayPal.
Later when the dust had settled and I was installing OpenOffice, it asked me to consider making a donation Doh!!
I then checked back to see what IO had done and there on the PayPal payment details was the name Advance Telecom Inc...what a great way to make money!!
I assume the Internet page must have changed but it must have been very subtle..and I didn't notice it!
Getting Pay Pal to do anything is virtually impossible - I have previously attempted to get a refund for faulty goods but they refused to do anything - and make me question their own operating ethics.
Anyway the great lesson is not to use PayPal for such purchases...I have had a few other problems but only when paying with a Barclays Visa card - and they are brilliant about refunds - absolutely no wriggling and most fair and efficient - in fact a great ad. for Barclays!

I am please to report that after lodging a second e-mail claim for a refund of the charge of USD49.99, I have now received a full refund from Advance Telecom Inc. credited to my PayPal account. After the initial delay, I have to say I am impressed by the speed of their response...but I should not have found myself in that position in the first place. I would just encourage anyone in a similar position to send a firmly worded request to Advance Telecom Inc. - you may be pleasantly surprised by the result.
