Advanced Metal Roofing Salesman lied, unfair business practices, over priced, scare tactics Fayetteville North Carolina

We had Advanced Metal Roofing come out and give us a quote on our roofing. The salesman Mr. Medlin wrote up an order of what would be needed for the project. He continued to beat around the bush about what it would cost for the metal roofing. Finally at the end of a long presentation the total amount came to over $33,000 for just 3,000 linear feet of material. I expressed that amount was too high. Than Mr. Medlin said that he had the power to utilize our home as a model home and that he could knock off $12,000. That brought the cost down to around just over $21,000.

Mr. Medlin of Advanced Metal Roofing stated that if we could not get the financing needed for the project, that we were not liable for the contract. Well about a week later, GE Money send us a letter stating that they would only finance $16,000. So I call to cancel the order due to lack of funds. I was told that it was past the three days we had to cancel the order. I advised this company that we did not hear back from GE until after the three days grace period and that we were assured that we were not under contract until we secured financing. We even gave this company a $500.00 deposit. Today, we get a letter in the mail from their attorneys that they intend to take us to court for 50% of the total cost of a job they never started.

I contacted the better business bureau and filed a complaint after trying to resolve this issue. So don't do business with this company at all. Bad Business Practices, over rated.
