Our family, including three children, moved from California to Ohio on January 29, 2003. The moving company we chose was Advanced Moving Systems. We were referred to this company by Forrent.com and apartmentguide.com. After several e-mails and questions to Sean Bar (thier company representative) we contracted with them for $2,914.00.
On the day of the move we put down $1,600.00 up front and were supposed to pay the remainder of $1,314.00 when the truck arrived in Ohio. We drove and arrived in Ohio on Sunday morning, February 2nd. We contacted them via cell phone February 3rd to see what the final weigh in for the truck came up to pound wise. They commented that they did not remember and they had turned in the amount to the company already.
The next day we received a call from the company telling us we needed to pay another $1,000.00 up front or they would not deliver the load. They also demanded another $3,235.00 upon the trucks arrival in Ohio. When my husband asked to have proof of the trucks weigh in after our items were loaded. It was then that the company showed it's true colors. The person on the phone began to yell at my husband and call him names.
My son's coach and close friend of our family also had some very important items on the truck with ours. He was the next one on the phone with the movers. Again as soon as anything was said about proof the person on the other end became agressive and started calling names. He said he had us and the only thing we could do was pay the money.
It's hard enough when a child has to adjust to moving acros the country but to also take away all their memories of growing up and all their personal belongings is wrong. How can these people take advantage of famililies. Pamela

Response to Classy Movers "Sean"
AUTHOR: Pamela Smith - (U.S.A.)

This is a response to Sean at "Classy Movers". If your company is not affiliated with Advanced Moving Systems why do you respond to e-mails and phone calls directed to Advanced Moving System?
I saved every e-mail you "Sean" sent me on behalf of Advanced Moving System. Every time we called Advanced Moving System it was you that answered our many questions. If your company does not have a connection to Advanced Moving Systems why do you speak for them? Thanks to your quick response to my e-mails and your very polite manner on the phone you got me to trust Advanced Moving Systems with my families treasures.
Now we are living in a completely empty apartment with all my children's belongings gone. By speaking for them and reassuring people they are a good company to move with you do affilate yourself with them.

Classy Movers are in NO WAY affliated with Advanced Moving Systems!!
Please verify your statements before publishing them because we are a new and reputable company that made the mistake in doing business with Advanced Moving.
Again, I am reinterating that Classy Movers ARE NOT the same owners, affliations, or anything of the same with Advanced Moving. Please check out your information before you try and ruin an unsuspecting novice company!!!!!!
