Afni collections sent a letter dated 02/07/2012 stating I had an outstanding debt of $217.53 with T-Mobil and demanding payment.

The date of the alleged contract with T-Mobile and/or delinquency is no given, nor is the alleged phone number (contract) that supposedly incurred the debt.

The verbiage in the letter is vague, features spelling and grammatical errors, and includes no other information that would lend to credibility or validity.

BOTTOM LINE - I have never had a contract with T-Mobile. As I have never had a contract with T-Mobile, I cannot owe them money.

This is a fraudulent attempt to scare recipients into paying "debt" they do not owe, something that AFNI has verifiably been doing since the mid 2000s. It is illegal. I will be informing them the debt is invalid pursuant to Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Section 809(b).

AFNI has a long and very well established history of not providing verification or judgement letters, so we shall see how this plays out.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Here's how to defeat AFNI,

AUTHOR: Eric - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 12, 2018

First you need to dispute the account with the Credit Bureau(s) that's reporting the account. This way you've leagally tested the information in an "investigation". It's important to remember that you are not a customer of the Bureau(s), AFNI pays their bills and profits. So don't concern yourself with how the Bureau will say, "AFNI validated the debet to OUR satisfaction". This is simply the first step in a process.

Next, write a letter to AFNI by certified mail requiring them to comply with the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act sub section 808. Unfair proactices [15 USC 1692f]. Then take their denial to comply in a complaint to the CFPB. Where they will send a "response" but will refuse to write a "reply". The CFPB is in all reality only a political football and does nothing to actually Protect the Consumer, so be aware of that.

One of the things the average consumer doesn't realize is that any Collection Company has to be licensed to do business in any given State. So take the BS they've been sending you and now file a complaint with your State Department of Licensing. Yes, the DOL actually does more than renewing your license plate and tags. This is where you can expect to get real action out of AFNI. As you've now  demonstrated their beligerent refusal to comply with Federal Law and you'll be theartening AFNI's ability to do business in the entire State, not just with you and you alone...

Remember, you now have a tried, tested and true plan of action. So don't lose heart or become discouraged, persistance is the name of the game here!
