Afni Inc. "collecting For "Contel Of The South,gte.contel,verizon billed 144.05 for aphone#I never had...Contel of the south is verizon who I have and donot owe Concord California

In April 2007 sent bill from Afni Inc collection 144.05 owed to Contel of the South called and explained I've had the same phone # for 16 years and the one they were billing me for was not and has never been my number.Now in June of 2008 I get another bill for the same thing again I called spoke with Tyrone who very rudly told me yes thats what I had said a year ago so why was I calling again the account was to stay open untill payed ,due to his rudness I went to look up Contel of the south and get a # as to deal directly with them.All I could find was the historical lineage and logos for cts which is ;in virginia GTE to Contel who merged with Contel of the south to become Verizon to whom I do not owe any thing(I called to check) and they know nothing of this Contel of the south bill......so why is it that I am being billed for somthing I never had by a company that no longer exists you can draw your own conclutions I am feeling fraud,scam ,RIP OFF!!!!!
