I was rear ended by a person claiming to have AIG insurance. Upon calling the day of the accident I was given a claim number for the incident. The next day a letter stating the preliminary investigation that occurred indicates the total amount of the damages may, or will exceed limit of coverage available to their policyholder. They want me to go thru my insurance which will resolve with them, however since it was not my fault I feel I should not have to pay my initial deductible of $500.00 and then try to get re-imbursed from AIG.
Any contact with AIG from myself or my insurance broker is replied that they are still investigating the coverage of the insurer on their side. How long to I have to wait and why should I have to got thru getting my car fixed from my insurance.
