Airsplat.com Sold defective product Arcadia California

Airsplat.com sells Airsoft guns (shoot plastic BB's) and they offer free shipping for orders over a certain dollar value. I purchased Christmas gifts for my son and upon first use one of the guns was found to be broken.

It took 2 months for them to finally acknowledge my correspondence and phone calls and required me to ship it back (at my expense) for repair or replacement. The gun value was $14.95 and shipping would be $10, this did not make econmic sense. I already had made several "toll" calls to them regarding this issue which costs $$.

They then offered to send me a replacement gun if I sent them an extra $10 for shipping. Again, this makes no economic sense. They sold me the original gun and I paid NO shipping, then when it's discovered to be broken I have to pay an additional $10 for this luxury? I don't think so.


They also tried to say that I was out of their 30 day warranty period. This was a Christmas present and not opened until 12/25/07 even though it was received on 12/7/07. How could I have forseen that it would be broken when it was in an undamaged box? My first contact with them was on 1/7/08.

This is peanuts to this company and you would think that they would stand behind their products. We would have purchased other items from them if they had showed good faith. But, all they want to do is hide behind the "internet" and don't even provide a physical address on their website. The invoice for the order does not provide a physical address either. I was only able to find them by going to the Yellow pages.

They tried to tell the Better Business Bureau that they were being fair by offering to "send another gun" as long as I pay shipping. Since I didn't pay for the original shipping why would I pay for shipping to replace the broken item?
