I have first hand knowledge, having been employeed by this company, of the mis-use of people's personal information inorder to make money. On countless occassions this company has used a persons personal information such as name, address, phone number, date of birth, drivers license number, and social security number in order to make money.

This company is a sub dealer for larger wireless companies such as verizon wireless and t-mobile. This company sells cell phones and the service. On countless occassions they have taken an existing clients information and used it to activate multiple lines of service in order to make a profit.

This has been done without the knowledge and consent of the client. I have notified the FCC and local investigation agencies, unfortunately they have not acted upon this information. it is very unfortunate.

If you are a consumer and wish to purchase a cell phone DO NOT go to these sub dealers, they will only take your money. they are not interested in giving you a good deal, they will mess up your credit and take your money. Again I have first hand knowledge of these fraudulant acts committed, having worked for the company for over a year.

These acts were not only committed by the sales reps, but also the managers. I have a list of names of individuals from whom not to buy, but just stay away from this company altogether. They will only hurt you in the end.

Early Termination and Good Faith Business

AUTHOR: Troy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, May 07, 2009

Just as a congressman and congresswoman does not read an entire bill before they approve it. It would be impossible for anyone to read and legally interpret every contract they sign. In order to review and interpret even the most basic contract in earnest an individual would have to have a law degree and nobody has a lawyer following them all day. I did business with Alert because the salesman was pleasent, I trusted the salesman, and at that time I was willing to sign a contract without reading based on trust and a good cell phone product. I made the mistake of signing in good faith that it wasn't a bad deal.

My point is that Alert Cellular violates good faith in business by making sure their kioscs look like Verizon or T-Mobile stores, by not making it clear to me I was entering into relationships with them and T-Mobile at the time of purchase. Any deal that will cost me $725 to terminate early is a bad deal, a reasonable person would agree is a bad deal, therefore Alert cellular is not going to be open in "earnest" in getting people to sign into a bad deal. Using the excuse that people didn't read the contract is not an excuse to sign people into bad deals. If Alert Celluar made an earnest effort to get people to understand the cost of early termination, their sales would obviously drop and drop dramatically.

Early Termination Fee

AUTHOR: Sandy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, February 14, 2009

I have been an employee of Alert Cellular for several months now. And it comes as no suprise to read that someone did not read the contract that they were signing. Yes, Alert Cellular will charge an early termination fee if cancelled within the first six months of the contract. As employees we make sure the customer knows this. It is in bold letters on the original invoice that the customer both signs and recieves a copy, on their copy of the credit car reciept (if one is used), and on the account review. Let this be known that we do tell and allow our customers to take full advantage of the 30 day test drive. The test drive states that the customer may choose to port their wireless numbers to another carrier within the first 30 days. In order for the customer to take advantage, they MUST PORT. If the customer chooses to cancel after the 72 hours and they do not port, then Alert sends it to a collection agency. The customer has every right to deny the employee from making the imprint of the credit card. What it all comes down to is the customer not reading before they sign.

Misuse of client information and false disclosure of contracts

AUTHOR: Niko - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 09, 2008

I have been a Verizon corporate employee as well and believe that Verizon delivers by far the highest standard of customer service and an outstanding service and coverage. I used to hear stories about independent dealers such as Alert and was spectacle because they came from Verizon Corporate employees who are technically competing against these dealers even though they technically represent the same company. I was formerly employed with this company as well and quit because I was tired of being told to lie to clients. I also saw first hand fraud and false credit information being used to open new accounts.

Any customer that activates a phone from the company has not only a $175 early termination of contract fee legitimately from Verizon Wireless but also has to deal with a $350 fee if the service is returned for any reason after 72 hours. I am guessing that legally this is permitted because they are still in business, however it is the way the situation is disclosed or should I say not disclosed to the customer. Verizon offers customers a 30 day test drive on their service and agrees to pay for the customers service, activation fees minus any download fees for applications or ringtones as long as they port their number to another carrier within 30 days if they are not satisfied.

Alert automatically charges a $350 fee, per line to their credit card if their service is disconnected for ANY reason after 72 hours even if you return the phones. How do they get your credit card info? Well, when you activate service the reps are told to ask for a credit card imprint so that they can prove that you came into the store physically since supposedly it is illegal to copy a Texas issued ID. (I am not sure but I do not believe TX outlaws companies to copy black and white copies of IDs to identify customers!)

That credit card WILL BE CHARGED if you return the service within 72 hours. If you cancel after 30 days you incur charges of $175 per line from Verizon which is perfectly ok except need to consider the $350 that you will also be charged for not keeping service for 180 days so they can be commissioned by Verizon for your purchase. So, canceling a line at 72 hours from purchase is $350 and 31 days is $525 PER LINE! They are told to have the customers sign and initial all disclosures and not give them the complete understanding of the stipulations they have signed for.

Sadly, their stores and kiosk locations are geared to look very similar to Verizon Corporate stores so customers who are not familiar with the wireless industry have no clue that the company they just bought from is a 3rd party dealer for Verizon.

I have plenty of other incidents that are not consumer friendly and perhaps even illegal as well, please contact me if you need further information to place a class action suit or complaint. Even though I am not a customer, I will do my best to assist anyone with their complaint against this company. I have names of people who have committed these illegal and fraudulent sales.
