He called himself Dino Milutinovic - we have found out that is not his real name, his real name might be Mario Vila. He is Croation, and has a light accent if you pick up on it. He's heavy set, friendly, has unique eye color, like green-hazle or something like that. Sleeve tatoos. He drove what looked to be a brand new black pickup truck.

My wife and I put down a depost of $2,200 after debating for a week whether or not we wanted a pergola. Of course, he was very communicative before we put the money down. Afterwards, he disapeared. It has been a month now, he does not respond to my text messages, and his phone number goes to voicemail. The kicker is, the voicemail box is full, so you cannot leave a message.

We have since found out that the address he gave us to send the check to actually belongs to his parents. Here, let me give it to you:

We have since found out through others who have been ripped off by "Dino" that he goes by other names, and has been performing this scam at least since July of 2012. We are surprised at the longevity of his scam, that he still has the gall to hang around the DFW area, and that the police have not arrested him yet. Oh, that's right, this is the USA, where you have to pay for justice. You see, since you signed a contract, this is now a civil matter, and the police don't do squat. BTW, his game is always the same: you put money down, but then there are delays to the start date. He might tell you that he just got a new big business contract pushing your own construction project back a few weeks. Heres another: rain flooded the supply warehouse, so supplies are delayed. It was raining, so the crew couldn't stain the wood as they do this outside. He just got supplies and he'll schedule you next week and call you with an update. He just recyles these excuses over and over, until eventually, he simply doesn't answer your calls any more.
