Alliant Energy, Janesville WI Customer Service, Female Supervisor Disconnected our service, when bill had been paid in full, charged me an extra $180.00 to have service reconnected, and said our meter had been tampered with. They tampered with it Janesville, Wisconsin

on Sept 27, 2011(Tuesday) at approx 8am, we paid alliant energy a past due payment, on that same day they turned our power off to our business (restaurant). At 10:45 am I went to work, then noticed we had not power, so I left. All while I thought I needed a break anyway. A couple hours later I come to find out the outside lights are on, while passing the building from a local store, I had been at. So I figure they had turned the power back on, since we had paid. I show up at work today and there was an alliant energy truck in the parking lot, he stated to me that he came to turn the power on, but it was already on, I related yes, you guys turned it on the same day, after we had called. He said no we did not, so he turned the power off, now with no bill, no power and no business in operation, am doomed, and we never touched a meter, but all my products are in jepardy, but they can do nothing. I didn't owe them nothing.Call the police,file a compliant, they said, I ask, will I get my money back! NO , So why file?

Seem to be left out.
You pay the past due bill at 8am and according to you on that same day(well actually a couple hours later) you go to work only to find that the Electricity is off. You just paid your bill and according to how you wrote this the power should not have been cut off at 8am, but you don't call the company to find out why it is off. What do you do? You leave to go shopping for 2 hours because you needed a break, and who doesn't need a break after 5 minutes of work.
Then we skip ahead two days where they come to really turn your power back on, but because it was already on they figured you tampered with it so they cut you off. I guess the "Power Fairies" just came down and turned your power back on after a couple of hours.
Here is what probably really happened. You were delinquent and had to pay the bill by the previous day but didn't, so by 8am Tuesday it was already cut-off.
You seem totally upset about your products and business now, how come you didn't seem to worry about all of your products on that Tuesday? Perhaps it is because you decided to conveniently leave for two hours knowing your power would be magically restored without calling anyone. What a great alibi after all if you are not there you have no idea how the power got turned back on.
So what's the whole story?
