I just got hired at AlliedBarton here in Albany. Everything went well until I was told I had the job. Then it started. The manager called to set up the schedual while I was in bed. When my wife answered he was rude and disrespectful to her, and told her if i wanted a job I better get up and answer the phone. Then he hung up on her when she tried to tell him she'd wake me. She called him back, and explained she'd get me up and he just gave her a "yeah yeah yeah" like she was a liar. When I went to fill out the paperwork, they had me sign for a employee handbook. I expected to get it then. However as of yet I do not have one, even though I had to sign for iton the spot.

I am still at my old job so i work 11 Pm to 7AM. I go to bed about 3PM so i can stay up at night. It's not uncommon to have work call for some reason, and she usually tells them i am sleeping and if it's an emergancy she'll wake me. He never gave her the chance to say that, just gave her his speel and hung up. When she called him back he'd already moved on to the next person, so appearantly i wasn't going to be added to the schedual at all had she not called back.

They hand you a stack of papers with the reciept neatly in the middle, and tell you ALL paperwork has to be filled out. Your also told you'll get your handbook once your paperwork is completed. But when it's done, you never get it. NOW they tell us, when we are training, you will not recieve your full pay, but 8.50 an hour since they are paying for your training. The rules keep changing as you go. Also, I was supposed to get my schedual today. I had told them i could work afternoons or nights. They called Saturday with DAYS for 3 days and one night. When i mentioned it I was told I'd get a call back Sunday. No call came.

Allied Barton is for sure a lowlife outfit. That is agreed. I have had numerous friends work for them. They tried recruiting me at a job fair a few years ago and I couldn't run fast enough! The pay sucks! They want experience and or military background, etc for a whopping $8/hr! I see the ads here all the time. What a joke! Now, why would you sign for something that you did not get? That's just stupid.
And, you should train your wife not to go into such detail on the phone. They did not need to know you were sleeping. I'm glad you were not taking a crap! Here's an idea, why not just let voicemail, or your answering machine get your calls when you are sleeping?
Or, maybe get up a little earlier if you are job hunting! You never mentioned what time it was. And, it is "schedule", NOT "schedual". Maybe you should set your goals a little higher than Allied Barton.
