Allied Interstate Inc. Harrassing & Annoying Phone Calls Minneapolis, Minnesota
*Consumer Suggestion: Allied
About a month ago, I started getting these phone calls to the house and to my cell phone. They call starting at 8 am and continue until about 8 pm. They call all day every day. At first I ignored it; then I started to answer, but no one says anything, they just hang up. I just found out today through online research who this company is and what they do. They are probably calling about student loans, but I don't know whose. They just continue to call, and they hang up when I answer.

You are correct in stating that Allied collects on student loans. If you personally do not have student loan debt, they might be contacting you about a loan (or loans) you have co-signed on for a loved one or friend. Unfortunately, they do have a legal right to call you to discuss the loan. It's worth a discussion with the collection representative as you may not know (as it seems to be the case) how it could be affecting your personal credit and ability to acquire financing in the future. Another potential ramification of defaulted federal student loan debt is wage garnishment and who wants that?
Good luck and I hope all works out.
