Amazon offered a choice of one of several FREE products if you would take a few minutes to complete their survey. I selected the offer from Allure RX of two skin care products. It's a scam as Allure charged me $200 for the skin care products plus shipping and added in automatic charges for the same amount every month!
Never had a problem with Amazon and survey appeared on my email and looked legit as questions were "how often do you buy from Amazon" and "do you shop Amazon from home or work", etc.
When you click on the FREE product you are to be shipped for $5.95, you are automatically sent to an Allure site to give your credit or debit card to be charged for the shipping, and to get your address, etc. The products arrived and two weeks later the charges showed up--$92.21 for the eye revitilizer and $97.67 for the perfect skin cream.
I first checked with my bank and they said they deal with this all the time. They gave me two phone numbers to call at Allure to dispute the charges. However, they said most likely all the company will do is give me refund of 45% if I mail the products back! My bank was right. Allure would NOT budge. They said I AGREED to all this. They gave me two cancellation numbers to use to take part of the charge off my account and to cancel any future automatic charges.
Spoke to "customer service representative" at Allure and she said I didn't buy through Amazon, I bought through them and there was small print that said I agreed to be charged for the products, the shipping, AND a recurring charge of $200 every month. REALLY?? I saw nothing but $00.00 in the charge slot with $5.95 shipping. AFter you purchase, the site goes away and I could not find it again to pull it back up.
Even more interesting, is the conversation I had with Amazon. Amazon said they did NOT send out this survey. So, are we talking impersonation AND scam by Allure??? Isn't is a shame that the only way this company can move their product is to be deceptive through scamming the public. Perhaps, it's not very effective. I am mailing back the product; they said it would take two weeks for the partial charge to be removed from my account We will see if this happens...... Evidently, this works well, as they are still in business. They got over $100 of my money and are not out of any product.
Also interesting, is that on the internet the same 2 Allure products I paid $200 for, are offered for $41.40 on one site, and $39.29 on another site, and the eye cream alone is only $3.99.
