Spent 2.5 hours on phone with them - 2 hours of it on hold - to eventually determine that the prices available when you book online (in which case you cannot use the future travel award) are invariably more than $200 less than the lowest fares offered when you call their reservation line. Therefore, a Future Travel Award of $200 is, effectively, worthless. You will not be informed of this, when you are asked to volunteer to be bumped from your flight in exchange for receiving the Future Travel Award.

SO, this is "false advertising", they are essentially asking you to give up your seat for zero consideration. It's lying, it's immoral, it's a scam. In my discussion with their Customer Relations Dept., they basically acknowledged this - I characterized their position as lying and immoral, and they did not deny it, nor did they make any attempt to find another way to provide me with considersation for having given up my seat.

#4 Consumer Suggestion

Read before you accept anything

With anything, you have to read before accepting it. On the back of the future travel award it clearly states how it can be redeemed under the terms and conditions. I don't think that it is a scam. Always read the small print, everyone knows that.
