Alan Burke of American Boat Listings, called to tell me that He and his buyer has been looking for my vintage 1984 Simpson/Wild Shifter. Said his buyer will restores this 32 ft Trimaran and would pay $25,000.00 and that he does not charge a commission only a listing fee of $399.00.

I told Alan, it was hard to believe that he had a buyer for this Shifter as there were only 9 built and it was rare that anyone ever heard of them. He said I would have the $25,000 check before I would receive credit card bill for $399.00.

I ask him to send an email stating the above so I could e mail to the original builder and see what he would do.

Next he said, your are calling me a liar and that I can take my boat and shove it and that I was paid in his a*s, then he hung up. WOW, I could not believe it.

This was a week ago, June 2010, today I looked under complaints and found one with the same Alan Burke name with the same company as far back 2004. Looks like Ripoff report has not stopped this guy or his company
