On January 27, 2005, I purchased $4600 in birch hardwood flooring from American Hardwood Flooring (hardwoodflooringusa.com). Salesman Jeff Caves happily took an extra $150 fro "rush delivery" and stated that I would receive my order within 2 weeks.

To date I have not received my order nor do I have any idea where it is at. You cannot speak with a real human being over any phone line. You are forced to speak with someone on an on-line chat room who gives you a standard reply of "It has been shipped from the mill and will be delivered within 7-10 business days".

I have received that reponse three different times. I have asked to speak with the delivery company that ships the product and I was told that the company was out of Cananda and they do not wish consumers to call them. That is unheard of.

I am now beginning to feel that I was duped in some type of intenet fraud. Much to my dismay, I have found several complaints through the BBB and the Attorney Generals Office of Nevada. I now cannot move into my new home because I have to hardwood flooring. I would appreciate any advice from out there.

My bank was initially helpless contacted the National Automated Clearinghouse Assoc

My bank incorrectly coded the debit reversal and AHF's bank (Bank fo America) quickly took the money back. My bank was initially helpless to do anything else so I contacted the National Automated Clearinghouse Assoc.(NACHA)and spoke with their compliance department. They were very helpful and contacted my bank and set them straight with the proper codes. My money has been returned and there is no way that AHF can go back and retreive the money.

On a side note, right after my money was returned, I received a phone call from a french/Canadian truck driver who stated that she was driving a tractor/trailer and was one hour from my house with a load of hardwood flooring. This is 47 days after my initial order. ( I was suppose to receive it within 14 days). The driver stated that "I" would have to put a crew together to offload the hardwood from the truck at a nearby truckstop. I advised the truckdriver that I had received my money back for the wood and that I could not accept the shipment. The truck driver stated that they have been having several problems with AHF and its customers and that their trucking firm was trying to cut ties with AHF. This concludes my saga for now! Do not do business with AMERICAN HARDWOOD FLOORING INC.

Returned Money I cannot believe that some US entity cannot put these guys out of business and into jail!

It appears that I was successful in getting my money returned by this method. What a load-off. I am really stupid for not having done my homework on this company. The bad reports are all over the internet. I cannot believe that some US entity cannot put these guys out of business and into jail!

Possible Solution successful or not

On 02-28-2005, I discovered through my bank, in which the AHF transaction was conducted (through faxed/voided check), that I have up to 45 days from the date of transaction to request a reversal of the debit that AHF made to my account based on AHF's dishonest misrepresentation of when my order would arrive. I completed that paperwork this morning and will keep everyone up to date as whether this was successful or not.
