I reported a problem with my stove and oven to American Home Sheild via the internet on Monday, December 24, 2001.

I put my home telephone number in as the contact number. They called my husband on his cell phone at work to make the appointment.

My husband told the technician not to call on that phone to use the number that I had put in claim form, the technician said oh, that must be the other number.

Non-eventful just change it. Well, they scheduled an appointment for friday and my husband was told that we would be called to let us know what time they would be out because he didn't know at the time.

Friday came and no call yet. My husband finally called them and asked when they would be coming out and was given an attitude saying it was our responsibility to call them, but that the technician would be out between 3 and 5 pm.

The technician supposedly showed up and spoke to my 8 year old son who was playing in the yard. He never came to our door, rang the doorbell, or even knocked. And then to boot they called my husband's cell phone again to see if we were home. The garage door was open and 2 cars were in the drive way and my husband has called earlier and told them we would be waiting.

My husband's cell phone was off because we were home. When we called to reschedule we were told we owed the $35 service fee. When I called to complain to AHS I was greeted with hostility and was not treated like a customer.

I was told that because the technician showed up at my house and spoke to my 8 year old that he should be held responsible for coming to get us.

I find that incredible. Now our account is on hold until we pay this.

I guess we will do just that but they will be losing a customer over this. I hope they are satisfied.
