American Interlock Constant over charging!!! Royal Oak Michigan

My husband has been sober for ten years he got his license taken away when he was 21 due to drinking and driving and has been without since we have for children and we just now had the money to go to court and try to get his license back they stated he must drive with an Interlock system in his car for a year they gave us a list of places to go through American interlock was the top one so that is who he called the payment was supposed to be 225 every 2 months which is already more than we can afford their machine malfunctions constantly due to the cold weather in Michigan it fried the computer in the first vehicle that we had we even got a mechanic to prove that when we went to court they told us to take the machine out of our car and stop service through them it would cost us $800 so we have continued service through them only because we cannot afford to not continue service everytime this machine malfunctions there is a $50 charge we are paying easily $500 every two months to keep this machine going for him to get his license back and the people that you call on the phone to speak with about this do not care and they treat you like a criminal or hang up on you or talk crap to you it's absolutely ridiculous do not ever go through American interlock systems their entire system is a scam for money my husband is the only one in the house that works do to me homeschooling our children we are good people he made a mistake when he was a young kid and now it is costing us thousands of dollars for someone that doesn't even drink anymore to get his license back just to be able to support his family I have never felt so wrong by the system I hope this helps any future people out there that may think about possibly going through this company please don't.
