American Military University AMU, APUS Dishonest, Incompetent, Charles Town ,West Virginia Nationwide

I transfered to this school in January from my alma mater where I had on active duty earned an AAS degree and was working on a BA. I am an older veteran single working mom who depends on the balance after tuition paid  I transfered because AMU advertised they offered more credit for work done in military  and the undergraduate book grant was a huge savings as I was spending hundreds on books every semester. I submitted all required paperwork and forms and had several chats with fin aid and advisors to make sure my fin aid would be uneffected by a change and I would still get refunds after tuition paid my previous school also was on 8 week minimester  and refunds were made after 2nd week of class. I was told this was also the policy at AMU, I had old school submit all paperwork stating when my last fin aid was received and was told all was in order. I started classes 3/6 and at months end was still waiting for refund , I was given different dates money to be released every time I called fin aid and different reasons for the delay. As I work part time when in school I was unable to quickly work enough to pay bills, fell behind in rent, had a medical emergency with one of my daughters that wiped out my little savings and got evicted from my rental. The school has yet to refund me anything though amounts are routinely showing on my account as balances (dates change daily). I have filed with the Dept. Of Education but that will hardly help my now dire situation, this is a email I sent today to fin aid office;

Been sleeping in my car now for over two weeks , even back to work fulltime (2nd week) I am having a hard time as I have not been paid yet. Keep hoping school would honor promise and refund my loan  balances but they are what I have read on line a very dis honest institution that holds refunds as long as possible for the interest they earn on hundreds of students waiting to pay bills. I will have to pay back thousands for classes I could not complete and will maybe never get my degree/ I am so sorry I ever transfered here to your school. You should be ashamed of the way you have treated this veteran single working mom who was working hard to get this degree. You have destroyed my dreams. I have been unable to do any work until today, my lil sis got my laptop out of pawn shop. ( I pawned so I could shower at TA and have gas to get to work ) I dont no if extension I asked for was given  or expired  in the one class or if I can get any for the other courses I will ask but seeing the lies I was told by fin aid (3 diiferent dates of loan balance refund and the reasons why ) I hold out little hope to be treated failrly.

I wish I had seen all the other complaints on line about this school as they are a nightmare, and should not be recommended as military or veteran friendly. BEWARE !!!! PICK A SCHOOL WITH A BETTER REPUTATION IF I GET A CHANCE I WILL BUT WITH ALL THIS DEBT I DOUBT I EVER WILL RETURN TO FINISH AS I AM 56 AND VERY DEPRESSED!!
