I re-financed with Ameriquest over a year ago. I just came to find out that the appraisal was way too high, so my house at the time was nowhere near what they said it was worth. At closing, the young man representing for them was not affilated with real estate at all, he was directed by his friend (who could not make it) where all the docs should be signed. I was told based upon the HUD factsheet, that I would receive around $15K. When I received the check from the title agency it was $2500. I however requested a copy of the HUD sheet and found that they changed all of the figures and forged my initials.

I contacted the Banking Instiute of Insurance and Finance and did receive the balance of my funds. I was also told that despite my credit, as long as I refinanced with AMC in a year I would receive a good (fixed rate)has not happened yet. I was also forced in a position where my mortgage payments after six years are late because I cannot afford their high interest rates. I believe that Ameriquest preys on single, minorites facing hardships and totally takes advantage of them. I am forced now to file Chapter 13 and am possibly facing foreclosure because of my current hardships. I wish someone had informed me of this class action suit and added New Jersey to the claim. Can we start on in New Jersey with the same end results?
