My tenant had an alarm put on his home and then defaulted on the payments. It went to collections and showed up on my credit report, apparantly because I'm the owner of the home. When I called Anderson Crenshaw and calmly tried to find out how and why this happened and how to resolve it I was met with downright verbal abuse. My head was swimming I was so confused by their attitude and extreme rudeness. I guess being a collection agency they expect abuse so immediately jump on the offensive, but their treatment of me while I was basically on a fact finding mission was inexcusable.

When I asked to get information on the original contract holder to try and find out how I became responsible for this bill they said they didn't have that information and could not help me. My only option was to pay the bill myself. They said if I did it would be taken off of my credit report but refused to give me anything in writing to guarantee that.

I was transferred to an even ruder supervisor, which I couldn't believe was possible, who said they were not a "literary company" and therefore couldn't send me the letter I was requesting. Without allowing me to say another word she said, "have a nice day" and abruptly hung up on me.

This is one of the worst bottom feeder collection agencies
The Attorney General of Texas is going after them
Send them a cease communications letter via certified mail with return receipt requested - keep copies of all these items
go to www.budhibbs.com for more information
as for "Beth" - you work for a scum bag collection agency - have you no shame ripping people off???? Get a real job

#1 UPDATE Employee

Rebuttal from Anderson Crenshaw

AUTHOR: Beth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 22, 2009

Elaine,

My name is Bethany Fansler and I am an employee of Anderson, Crenshaw & Associates.

Our reprensatives are trained to handle disputes with courtesy and professionalism, so I respectfully refute your claim of rudeness and verbal abuse. Our employees are met sometimes with prevarication or anger, are the object of confrontational communications and must have the skills and knowledge at all times to defuse a very emotional exchange. The ability to defuse such situations is dependent upon each representative's individual skills and gifts. To better handle situations of that type, Crenshaw, in its on-going continuing education requirements, implements instructive scenarios in which employees are confronted with hostile, rude or profane third parties. It is hoped that through such role playing, employees will be better able to handle situations which may arise.

Additionally, any complaints or concerns that you have should be directed to our Dispute Department. We can be reached at 214-368-2980. You may ask for myself for Emily. We look forward to hearing from you and working with you toward a resolution.
