Antivirus 2009 - Pandora Software - Meyrocorp online virus protection scam Internet
*Consumer Comment: Wendy, WHY would you click on ANY "pop up" and why are you on the internet without a security program?
*Consumer Suggestion: Regarding Anti Virus/Spy/Trojan etc. Software
*Consumer Suggestion: Its a SCAM!
I received a pop-up box on my computer, warning me that I had virus infections and I should buy this software. After charging my credit card $60, I received a confirmation email that I had received the software and it was being downloaded....however, nothing ever was downloaded to my computer and now I have no protection and I am out $60. What a ripoff!

Wendy,
First of all, WHY would you even think about clicking on ANY "pop up"???
This is downright stupid.
Second, WHY would you get on the internet for even 1 second without FIRST having an up to date anti-virus/security program installed?
This is just crazy!!
Third, WHY would you give $60 AND your personal and financial information to an anonymous person/entity?
NEVER give ANYONE online your personal/financial information without FIRST verifying EXACTLY who they are and checking out the "business" for complaints, etc.
Just common sense here.
Now, that you have infected your computer, and compromised your financial security, go to a DIFFERENT COMPUTER and download the fix for the TROJAN you just installed! You should not get on the internet with that computer again until you fix it.

Regarding Anti Virus/Spy/Trojan etc. Software

I fully agree with you. Most of this stuff is nothing more than snake oil. Matter of fact more than 80% of the new "mal ware" going around on the net today can not even be detected by Anti virus software. That is not my personal opinion but has been said at a convention:
http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/security/soa/Eighty-percent-of-new-malware-defeats-antivirus/0,130061744,139263949,00.htm
So, no matter which one you buy, it is for all intents and purposes useless & a waste of money. I have solved this problem at no cost and so can you.
Install 2 hard drives in your PC then clone your operating system to the second hard drive. Never use the original operating system to surf the net...only the clone!
Do whatever you want and when your PC gets infected simply nuke the clone with the first hard drive by formatting it and then re clone it. I have been doing this for many years now and NEVER had any problems. The cloning software can be downloaded for free from XXClone and if you want specifics how to set up your PC like mine I have a website which gives you all the details (also free).
It is: http://askbernhard.9f.com/
I am sick and tired of these software rip offs and spend most of my time setting up PC's in my community to be immune (for good... no updates needed)
Give it a try

Sorry to tell you this, but you're out $60! AntiVirus 2009 is just like AntiVirus 2008 and 2007 and 2006 etc.....in the future, treat those pop ups like any other and DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY! I suspect as soon as you opened it, the virus/trojan/worm attached itself. Try the free program for protection from AVG.comrun this free program to get rid of AntiVirus 09!
