Ripoff Report Verified REVIEW:

EDitors UPDATE: Positive rating and recognition has been given to APX Alarm for its commitment to excellence in customer service.

Ripoff Reports discussions with the company have uncovered an ongoing commitment to total customer satisfaction. You can expect to have any questions or concerns that you have with them to be answered and resolved in a timely manner. They have shown us their customer service process, and it reflects a desire to serve customers, as well as fix problems.

The company's management specifically told us about how their job is to simplify lives and help people to live intelligently. The management really wants every person who buys a system to feel valued. The concern for each customer's experience starts at the top, and is reflected in the action of every employee they hire.

The company also works to monitor their sales and customer support calls to see how they can be improved. They use these calls as examples for employees in training. Currently, Vivint is working to make changes to their contracts to make things easier for their customers as they have found that many of their complaints stem from feeling misled or customers paid fees they did not feel they authorized.

NOW TO THE ORIGINAL REPORT THAT WAS FILED

----------------------------------- APX Alarm Security Solutions lying salesmen, rude customer service faulty equipment and poor response to monitoring Provo Utah

I have read the other reports that have been filed against ApxAlarm and many of them are exactly what I have been dealing with. My husband and I had a salesman come to our home in May of 2007 telling us that we could get free equipment and installationfrom this alarm company if we just do them the favor of advertising their company with the sign in our front yard.

When we sat down to look at the contract and saw that it was for five years we said no-way that is a long time and who knows what could happen in that amount of time. The salesman said that was no big deal if we needed to cancel the company would just come back out and collect their signs and equipment or if we were moving we could either leave everything here for the new home-owners or we could take the equipment with us to our new home. We went ahead and signed since it seemed we could cancel if ther was a need. In the contract it states that a person can cancel for their then prevailing disconnect fee which I found out the hard way that they claim it is to pay off the contract in full. I believe this is contradicting their own contract since it also states that "THE TOTAL CASH PRICE YOU WILL PAY US FOR THE SERVICES PROVIDED IS TWO THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED NINETY NINE DOLLARS AND FORTY CENTS. If they claim I have to pay that amount in order to cancel then I am paying for sevices that have NOT been provided.

I also had problems with their monitoring. About a week after getting the sevice one day suddenly the fire department and the police arrived at my house running up to my door ready to face an emergency, (which was terribly embarrasing) there was no emergency and our alarm had not been sounded. When I called to find out what had happened the APX associate told me it had been going off like crazy for TWO days, why wasn't something done about it on the first day. Then he proceeded to ask if I had children, yes I do, he said he could guarantee my children got a hold of my key fob and were pushing the buttons on it. I told him that couldn't have happened well, come to find out there was a man in Chicago using our codes to test other new systems because they had assigned these codes to me but didn't remove them from their list.

Everytime I have dealt with this company they have been rude, they will not let me talk to any kind of manager, one employee even mislead me to believe that I was talking to a manager and I later found out that the individual I had talked to was not a manager. I hope someone is suing them and if there is a class action suit I will be part of it. I want out of my contract, they are a horrible, horrible company. I have been lied to and I want no part of them, I don't want them geeting anymore of our money.

There is already enough crime in this world that makes people feel unsafe, I don't know why security companies feel they need to lie to get people to sign up. There are always would-have, should-have, could-have but hind sight is always 20/20. That really doesn't help in the here and now. However APXAlarm not only lies but is also very rude and unwilling to solve customers issues. Let's not forget that APXAlarm is being sued by other security companies also ther is a 10,000,000.00 class action law suit against them from former employees from 2004. I believe we the customers need a class action law suit.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Alarm sales rep's are trained from scripts to lie to you.

AUTHOR: Inspector - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 16, 2008

I once applied for a job with ADT and during the interview the manager immediately hired me. He gave me a script to study and memorize. This script was full of scenarios to use to sell the customer an alarm service. Some of them are meant to scare the potential customer into signing up.

Make no mistake, you are buying a service for monitoring and also lease of the equipment (the alarmco owns the equipment).

Before you sign any alarm companies contract, you must study and read the contract carefully. Don't blame others because you did not. You are investing thousands of dollars and should be as careful as possible.

My advice is to call some local alarm companies (not the big names) and inquire about their service and equipment. You will get much better service.
