My credit card started being declined at stores on 11/10/08. At first I thought it was a bad scan but then I realized that something was wrong with the card. After attempting to make an online purchase I was notified the card was declined again. Upon calling customer service I was notifed that Aspire Visa was discontinuing it's services and was never given a reason why. When I asked "Robert" if ALL of the Aspire Visa accounts were being discontinued I was notifed that "Aspire Visa is discontinuing it's services" He would never specify if it was just my account or others as well.

I called back a second time with more questions about my account and spoke with "Robert" again. I am currently waiting and have been waiting for over 30 minutes on the phone to speak with a representative that can discuss my actual account information. It is now 2:06 am. I am very dissapointed and disgusted with their customer service.

I will evaluate this last bill with a magnafying glass to make sure they are not stealing any more of my money. My account limit has never been reached and I pay the bill off every month. There is no reason on my end why the card should be discontinued. Will this hurt my credit in the end?? My credit at current is perfect. Their customer servise is repulsive.

My credit was not "perfect" when I started with the card. I was a senior in high school getting ready to go to college. After 12 years with the company, I have established credit and good credit at that. I did not pay off full amounts at first to establish credit, however, after that, most of the time the credit card was paid in full. Thank you.

"Aspire Visa is discontinuing it's services" = they are closing everything down...

I'm responding in every topic related to the latest Aspire news because it really doesn't belong on this site. I am not an Aspire employee, i'm a cardholder just like you and found out today about Aspire shutting down their credit card operations. I am surprised the representative you spoke with didn't tell you that.

I am also wondering how this will affect out credit scores. I do know if YOU close the card it can hurt your debt/available credit ratio. I am not sure what happens if the BANK closes the account (in this case ALL accounts).

Your credit is not "perfect" if you are an Aspire customer!

Shannon,

I hate to break the news to you, but your credit is NOT "perfect" if you are an Aspire customer!

What is your definition of perfect?

6mos with no lates? 12 mos?

"Perfect" credit is usually considered by most lenders to be a credit score over 800 and no lates reported at all in the full 7 years of reporting.

That is my experience.
