ASUS AKA ASUSTeK Computer Inc. provides the A7V8X-X Motherboard to local computer assembly companies.

A custom system with 100% new parts and licensed copy of Microsoft XPwas created on December 27, 2003. A standard ATI graphics card and Western Digital Hard drive were used with an ATI 2.7 GHz CPU.

All XP and Windows Movie maker were updated.
The programs loaded were Microsoft Office 2000 and several Microsoft Logo games (Age of Empires, Mech Warrror, ect.).
The ATI and other drivers were updated.

The System would Blue Screen during the introduction video to Age of Empires or Mech Warror. The system would Blue Screen during graphical play of several games. The Microsoft Movie Maker was only 1/4 as fast to process video graphics as a Pentium III 666 Mhz system. Test from 3rd party benchmark software showed the processor and memory was below a Pentium IV 1.2 GHz 133 Mhz bus (no where near the 2.7 Ghz CPU with 333 Mhz front side bus on the ASUS A7V8X-X.

The ASUS EZ BIOS FLASH (Software and ASUS website) appeared to work to update the BIOS (as claimed on the ASUS box). Upon reboot, it would not even boot into Windows.

The ASUS resaler claimed using the ASUS EZ BIOS Flash *Voids the warranty*. Out of desperation to get my new 7 day old computer operating, I purchased a second ASUS A7V8X-X mother board, paid an additional $50.00 to replace the 7 day old ASUS A7V8X-X motherboad. Results: The computer worked perfectlly with out blue screen or slow processing.

ASUS Refuses to Provide RMA:
ASUS A7V8X-X box claims a 3 year warranty.
Since the ASUS distributor would not take care of this ovbious defective motherboard, I used the ASUS RMA request website.

After 10 business days of conformation of my request from ASUS, they have failed to act in any way.
A second *demand* for RMA was sent via ASUS RMA website on Feb 1, 2004.

ASUS Motherboards are *Made in China*
