One morning somethime in December 2007 after Christmas I was headed out the door to town when the phone rang. Expecting it to be my sister, I answered, It was an AT&T rep. trying to sell me DSL Internet service.
I was quite bit annoyed, and cut him off short of his presentation. I politely said "NO THANKS" He continued. I told him "NO" two more times and I hung up on him. I was annoyed, but I never got angry.
Allow me to add, I have Cable Internet with the local cable co. I don't need their DSL.
That afternoon upon returning home, there's a message on my machine from AT&T telling me of my new account services and that my equiptment would be arriving in a few days. I immediantly got them on the phone concerning my account. "Yes" I blasted the whole issue to them, and was assured this would be cancelled. However in a couple of days UPS brought me their DSL equiptment and left it on my doorstep, and so did I. I called them again only to find out that DSL service had not been taken off my account. "They lied again" . This time the rep. assured me to the issue would be resolved I just need to return the equiptment or I would be charged for it. I told them to charge the rep. who authorized the service 'not me' I didn't ordered it. I was wasting enough time with their BS. , that it wasn't my duty to ship back their pkg. I asked them "Should I have to pay for a car that my neighbor had to sell and parked it in my driveway without my consent and sent me a bill for it?"
I was sure this time I had made myself clear. For since then I have paid my regular phone bill online and there wasn't any recording on my online account of this DSL charge. Then I get my paper bill for Feb 2008 , There it is, 1 if 10 installment fees of this falsefied charge for the modem of 7.50 of a 75.00 total. So I call again, only to wait for 25 minutes listening to all their ads. Finally; ...and they tell me the service was cancelled but I owe them 75.00 for the modem. I did not order the modem, your rep did, against my consent therfore charge him. This rep told me I need to clear this with the dept that handles the DSL internet service. She gave me a # and also patched me through. Now I'm listening to a voice activated device, where I have to answered yes or no to a variety of questions, and there isnt one pertaining to my situation. Frustrated and commeted to other priorties, I hung up. I will not pay this, I'm only paying my phone part. I will be posting with http://www.ripoffreport.com/
NOTE: After our conversation, the last rep insisted on telling me about their special on their free razor phones. I insisted I didn't need. Then asked me about Direct TV and DSL. I informed them we just got finished talking about my issue with their DSL. "hummmp" I not going to be surprised if I get those services added to my account as well.
I am searching the web for any means of retaliation, got suggestions. Post me a comment. Thanks for reading.
