I bought two cell phones online @ att.com. I purchased the plan which is about $70.00 a month for two phones. I was aware that there would be an activation fee so I was expecting my first bill to be $110-$120. When I opened my first bill it was $225. I reviewed my bill online and I noticed that they charged me $100 for one phone and $20 for the other, instead of $50/$10. I called customer service and i was told that i had to pay for two months in order to "get caught up with everybody else".Keep in mind I only had the phones for one month and I had to pay for December when it was only November at the time I got the bill. 'Til this day I am so confused and pissed off 'cause I called twice and pretty much was told the same thing. What does "get caught up with everybody else" mean? Now I know why they have 2year contracts. They cover their butt and then charge you a whole lot if you want to cancel. DO NOT buy phones online.

You pay for the service a month in advance. Say you open your account November 1st and your first bill is printed November 30th. You have to pay for November's service and December's service for the first payment. Once you have made that "double" payment, then December 30th's bill will be for January service, Jan 30th bill will be for February service, and so on.
