I think this is a general complaint that will cover the concerns of many AT&T customers and it finally needs to reach the board-room. I have been a faithful customer of this company for many years. I was their customer when it was Cingular and the only thing that I could think of that was more of a rip-off than their company was Verizon - which is why I left them for AT&T! But, I take serious issue with their texting plan.
AT&T has a hideous texting plan. You have only two choices. You can either get the shaft with 200 texts per month for $5 or unlimited texts for $20. There is no in-between. That wouldn't be so bad if their cell phone "talk" plans didn't have the same kind of "jump" in between plans. The company wants to sell all of these data/texting phones but they don't want to sell plans that are conducive to the phones without strangling the customers to death bit by bit as their bills rise $20 with each service that they need with their plan. The texting plans are a total turn off when (((competitor's name redacted))) is offering the whole sha-bang for $99/month. On AT&T, you can only get unlimited talk for that price!
Here are my suggestions:
1. If AT&T claims to have the largest coverage in America, let all of their faithful customers have FREE texting amongst one another.
2. Offer an in-between texting pricing plan. I'd suggest $5 for 500 texts. That seems more reasonable.
3. Offer unlimited texting for $10. There is absolutely no reason to be charging $20 for texting. Data communications is not that expensive and we all know that. If it were, (((redacted))) wouldn't be able to do it for a much cheaper price.
Get with the program AT&T!!!
sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
