AT&T Universal Card, Citi I was charged for a payment I made to them with interest sioux falls, South Dakota

On 2/2010 I made my usual payment to at&t credit card.  The next billing cycle it showed I had a late fee for non-payment. I called at&t they said they never got the check.  I mailed the cancelled check that they cashed 2 days after I mailed it.  Got another letter saying since I never mailed any info on the claim the charges would stand called at&t again. The person dennis stated everything was taken care of and the late fee was cancelled. 

Next billing it showed a purchase of 43.11, I called at&t again since I never purchased anything I spoke with a sheena and she said they had to charge the payment they got back to me.  I said that did not make any sense I did not purchase anything I made a payment of 40.00 anyway not 43.11.  She told me I needed to make payments on line not throught the mail, I said no I have always mailed my payments and that is how I was going to keep paying. Sheena was rude and would not help. Mind you they charge to make online payments plus on the 43.11 they charged back to me was on a 18.99 apr. 

I got another letter stating the payment of the 40.00 was paid to another persons account with the same billing address. Now hold the phone who else has the same address as me and with the same account number? 

I called again tried to explain this all again they told me some rigamaroll about how they had to charge the amount back to my account because it was taken out of another account.  I said that is saying I bought a 40.00 item and did not make a payment and now I am charged with interest for making a payment.  I told her to keep the 40.00 if at&t was that broke.  Even better they charged a 60.00 fee for having the card and charged this like a purchase with the interest.

I paid the thing off not really knowing what I owed them after all this confusion they did to the account.  I in fact cancelled all the cards I had that was citi or at&t.

This is the second time I was dupped by a credit card the other happened when washington mutual was taken over by chase.  Chase did not like I had a 3.99 fixed so they never billed me and when I got a bill they increased the apr to 24.00.  They would not even listen to me when I called them. They did not mail the bills out on purpose to make every late on the paymentshence the apr rate increase shame on them. I cancelled them too.

Watch every bill you get from any credit card because they are staying up late thining of ways to screw you out of your hard earned money.

It is sad the amount of greed in this country.  And the credit card companies are leading the pack.
