I purchased 2 flip phones from at@t in Oct. Along with the impression I would recieve a rebate of $300.
I sent in all the papers after receiving the phones. The status report online said I should receive my rebate in end of Dec. or the first part of Jan. I called at the end of the Jan. and was told that I should be receiving it in the week of Feb. 2. But I still have not receive anything, just the usual run around of it is on the way.
They want their money on time but they do not have to sent mine to me

Phone Rebates Are A Rip Off

If it was not for dishonest companies trying to trick the customer such as at&t does, there would be no reason for rebates. What companies like at&t rely on is the hopes that either
(A) You forgetting to send the rebate in so they can keep the money, or
(B) You do not read the never ending ant print rules, regulations and by laws and hope that you make a mistake like forgetting to add your middle initial so they can refuse to send it to you and keep the money. I mean think about it, if I was buying a phone from at&t, what is the reason that I need to send a rebate in otherwise? I am only buying one (1) item.
It is not like it's a buy one can of soup, get one free offer with a limit of one per household! With these types of offers, I can see it because if it was not for rebates with limits, only a few cheapskates would gain from these offers because they would buy all of the cans of soups available, and there would not be enough for other customers, since the reason of a rebate is to draw as many people as possible into the store and to get them to try their item, which in return, if customers like it, they will be back for more where as to if they would have not offered a rebate, alot of people might have not tried that item. But as for a cell phone rebate, give me a break, I am only buying your piece of crap phone so I can use your crappy service.
There is NO REASON that at&t could not just say that they are giving you a phone that is worth $5.00, retails for $350.00 and they are offering it to you at a reduced rate of only $75.00 if you join their service today. But a rebate on a phone????????? Totally uncalled for unless at&t is trying to rip someone off! Otherwise if they were truly honest and willing to give you that rebate that they offer to you, all you should need to do is send the sales slip with your name and address on the slip, maybe a copy of the UPC, and they should be more that happy to send it to you since you are already paying for thier high cost services.
Which brings me to my next complaint. Why is it that when you purchase an item from a place like an at&t store, they give you a rebate slip to mail along with the form and the UPC seal. The clerk usually tells you that a copy of the UPC is good enough, but when you read the ant print, it reads real small somewhere in the form that you MUST send in the ORIGINAL SALES RECEIPT along with the ACTUAL UPC?
Also to whom it may concern, I was NOT a victim of the at&t rebate since I sent my 2 gsm phones back since even though I was promised that they would work in my area, they didn't. Then again, what can you expect from at&t? Instead of dealing with rebates, I spent 20 hours on the phone trying to figure out how to send their garbage back!

Ok folks, here it is in a nutshell. As Americans, and i take alot of calls from people asking about where their rebate is from Americans... Please please fill out the forms properly. Almost every call is... what do you mean im disqualified?... my question to them is..... have you read the complete rebate form and filled it out with all the required information??.... 99% of the time the answer is.... no, i don't have time to fill out papers or read them all.
Well then duh.... either read them and fill them out, or go to walmart or some other store to get your items at an already downsized price if you are that lazy. We at the call center, find that with every call, Americans are ignorant and arrogant when it comes to rebates. You feel it is the stores responsibility to fill these forms out for you. No way..... all the stores want is the comission for that sale.
Read the forms thoroughly, fill them out correctly, then send them in. If you can't do that on your own, then do not send in for a rebate. Actually if you do read the rebate forms, it does say......"form to be filled out by person wishing for a rebate".
