Our small, fast-growing catering company needed some commercial-grade equipment (large range, double-stack convection oven, refrigerator, etc.). In an effort to save some money, we looked around town and found Austin Bizmart. They are a liquidator who does not know much about the equipment they sell, and sell it at a steep discount.
Knowing that they are a liquidator, we brought in an outside expert to recommend any repairs that would need to be made before taking delivery of the equipment. I also asked for and was provided assurance that all equipment would work or would be repaired solely at Austin Bizmart's expense - this language was added to the invoice. After getting the equipment to our kitchen, we had an installer come to make all of the necessary gas and other connections, and found that the convection oven, while partially repaired, was in a state of disrepair that it could have caused an explosion in our kitchen.
After several visits fromAustin Bizmart's contractedrepairman, it was determined that a large amount of work was needed to make this unit operational - the tech was ready to condemn the unit on the spot. I was then contacted by the owner of Austin Bizmart to let me know that he was unwilling to make the repairs unless we were willing to split the cost. He said he would also take the unit back. While returning the unit required about 14 man-hours of labor to get the ~1000 lb. convection oven back out of the kitchen, we wanted this dangerous piece of equipment out of our kitchen. So, we returned the unit to Austin Bizmart along with a faulty rack they had sent us in the original order as well.
After returning the unit, we were informed that we had forgotten two regulators ($32 value each), and were told that our rental trailer would not be released until these were returned or paid for.
Today, I received the second extremely unprofessional phone call from Robert, the business owner, in which he cussed me out (again) for "nickel-and-diming" him when I mentioned that we would write a check for the regulators minus the cost of the returned rack.
Austin Bizmart promised to provide a working product, and then gave us the runaround when the product they delivered didn't work. Buyer beware with these guys! The price looks pretty good, but I can promise you that this is a circumstance in which you get what you pay for. Buy from someone who knows what they're selling, and that has a reputation for at least some quality. Austin Bizmart fails on all of the above. STAY AWAY!

UPDATE: Austin Bizmart
AUTHOR: Austin Business Professional - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Monday, January 24, 2011
After writing the original report, I realized that I provided more of my own opinion than the facts of our transaction with Austin Bizmart. While I am entitled to express my opinions here, Ido not believe it wasnecessarily relevant to the reader.Unfortunately, because of this website's policies, I am unable to remove or edit the original report. Therefore, I am providing this update as an attempt to set the record straight.
Since this report was written, the owner of Austin Bizmart realized our displeasure, and called our company on the phone. After some discussion, he apologized for the confrontational transaction, and offered to set things right by providing a full refund for the convection oven. I believe this was ultimately a fair resolution to the problem, and a good faith effort on the part of Austin Bizmart. As of this writing, we have not yet received the remainder of the refund as promised, but I feel confident that we will shortly.
In conclusion, I think this was just a symptom of some growing pains that Austin Bizmart was experiencing, and does not reflect the way they routinely treat customers. I also believe that they can be a source for bargains on equipment with due diligence on the items before the transaction.
