Approximately 15 months ago I purchased an auto warranty from Auro Warranty Agency ("AWA"), in Salisbury, MD; AWA used Alpha Warranty as the insurer and acted as broker.  After approximately 1 year I applied to cover the cost of a failed item specifically listed in the policy; the claim was refused.  Disenchanted, I requested the refund as per the requirements in the policy.  First, AWA continued to charge me the monthly premium; only when I told the agent the Letter of Cancellation was a Certified Letter AND gave her the USPS reference number did they admit they had received the letter and then agree to stop charging me; Second, Elizabeth Porter in accounting wrote to me on 11/2/2015 saying my contractual refund would take 6-8 weeks; after 8 weeks, on 12/28/15, I wrote to Ms. Porter...no reply as of 1.4.2016;  I left a voicemail...no reply;  Third...I wrote to Sean McMenamin who had promised his help in any situation where I needed him to step in...when he sold me the policy.  Mr. McMenamin refused to help; said it was in the hands of the accounting department.  I have left more messages today with Ms. Porter (voicemail); tried to call Nick Vincelli (voicemail); have againemailed Ms. Porter.

Along with others here, I am not giving up getting my money.  Should I receive a check in settlement I shall revise this report accordingly.  But, if after a reasonable period I have still heard notjhng, I shall join others who have written on the site with similar expereinces and follow all legal remedies open to me.

Auto Warranty Agency Issues Refund - Good.

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, January 06, 2016

After writing the above report I wrote to Nick Vincelli, the CEO of AWA, at 2:35 PM on Monday afternoon, 1/4/2016.  In summary, I told Mr. Vincelli that if I did not get confirmation by 4:30 PM that same day that I would be receiving my refund check, I would be sending all my documents to the Attorney General of the State of Maryland, thereby lodging a formal complaint.  Mr. Vincelli wrote back within 10 minutes saying that my refund had been issued on 12/31/2015 and mailed that same day.  It is now Wednesday, 1/6/2016 and the check arrived 10 minutes ago; I am herein fulfilling my obligation to 'make good' my complaint if managed with integrity.  Should you experience similar problems, it takes 10 - 15 minutes to file a complaint with the Maryland AG's office on the internet; you will have to follow up by sedning all relevant documents by mail or fax.

Good luck with Auto Warranty Agency.
