Late fall of 2011, l had an automobile for sale via a popular free advertizing website. On  Dec 30, 2011, l received a call on my answering machine saying their company could help sell my car much quicker using their system.

I called back and talked to "Debbie", vehicle marketing specialist, and she mentioned she was associated with AutoMarketing Systems, and confirmed the year and brand of my vehicle. I guess she had already checked the free-ad website l was using.

She went on to say that more than 30 potential buyers were looking for a specific car like mine and were situated within 200miles from my residence. While she would give me her sales pitch, she would ask if she could enroll me, time and time again. She did mention l had the option of enrolling for a refundable enrollment program, $249, l believe, or a non-refundable one for $149.

When l ask how soon could l expect some calls from those "potential buyers" that she knew about, she said probably within a week or so after l signed in and uploaded photos. She emphazised that these buyers would show up with cash and ready to buy.

Needless to say, l signed in for $149, and after uploading photos to their website, l would check every week and not one email inquiry or telephone call from buyers followed, from January 2012 until April 12/12.  I contacted them via email to remove my car from their website since it was sold via the free-ad website and let them know how l was not very happy with their misleading sales pitch. They replied to confirm my car was off their website but nothing else like a simple apology.

I would say to sellers, beware of that website or company, specially if you're located in Canada.
