Good morning,

I recently purchased a vehicle from Autonet, a dealer located in Dallas, TX. Upon purchase, we were advised that the vehicle has passed the state inspection as required. The bill of sale shows the full cost of the inspection. There was no inspection sticker given, since they are no longer provided. We drove about 10 miles down the road and the check engine light illuminated. I pulled into the nearest AutoZone to have the codes checked. The technician stated that the check engine light had recently been cleared and had several codes for transmission problems. When I got home, the vehicle sat in your steep inclined driveway for about 2 hours. When I came back out, there had been water leaking onto the ground. It had been draining from the floor in the vehicle. Either this vehicle had been flooded or the sunroof had a sever leak. I attempted to contact the salesman via text. This was the same method that we had communicated in the past. He did not respond. So I called him on the phone. I explained to him the situation and he said the vehicle was sold as-is and there was nothing he could do. He said he was willing to let his detail guy take a look at it...that was pointless. The vehicle should have been accepted back. I had to remove the seats and the carpet from the vehicle. I then had to rent 3 air movers from home depot to dry out the carpet and padding. This solved the water problem, but the check engine codes persisted.

I looked up the vehicle inspection and it had not been inspected since April 9th 2015. We purchased the vehicle on December 6th 2015. I have contacted the dealer and they have stated that since we purchased the vehicle used, it is as-is. No refunds or exchanges. I have found out that there are several other complaints against this business as outlined in their Better Business Bureau profile. http://www.bbb.org/dallas/business-reviews/auto-dealers-used-cars/autonet-in-dallas-tx-90235699

We now own an $8500 vehicle needing $6800 in transmission repairs due to a shady dealer. I would hate to see this continue to happen to other people in the DFW metroplex. Please help us either get reimbursed for repairs or a refund on our vehicle and at the same time notify all of the citizens in the area.

Thank you,
Anonymous
