I bought Tweakbit FixMyPC thinking that it would finally fix Windows 10 (Microsoft doesn't seem to think it's their problem). I tried it and it didn't work, everything was exactly the same as before. I contacted Avangate to get a refund after uninstalling...that's when I noticed the charges to my credit/debit card.

$79.35 cents was what they charged me. The price was WAY more than what they had advertised, and they had put in some software that I hadn't even asked for, TweakBit PC Booster and TweakBit Driver Updater. I should have been suspicious when they sent me 3 different license numbers and had me call to have a tech install the software. Why do I need a tech if I already have the license?

I uninstalled the software and contacted Avangate for a refund; I purchased the software on October 9, they refunded my money on October 10....except they didn't. They sent a receipt saying they had refunded my money, but that money never reached my account. I contacted Avangate about the situation, and they said they would put a chargeback specialist and support staff on the case.

That was weeks ago, they have put me on permanent hold and never gotten back to me. There were responses to emails I sent after I began to get impatient, always promising that they would look into it and thanking me for my patience, but my account has never seen a dime of that money. It is now the first week of November, and still no answers from them. They are pulling the old "ignore them and they'll go away" technique.

P.S. even after I uninstalled the software, my anti-malware program is still finding bits of Tweakbit in my system. They apparently installed something I can't get rid of, we'll see what happens in weeks to come.

They gave it back?!!

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Sunday, November 08, 2015

Would you believe, they actually GAVE ME MY MONEY BACK! Mysteriously, the day before I filed this report, my money suddenly reappeared in my bank account on November 3, 2015. While I would like to think they finally decided to do the right thing on their own, something tells me that's not the case.

As far as my computer goes, my antimalware program is still finding bits and pieces of Tweakbit, even though I uninstalled the software and deleted the files weeks ago. SOMETHING is still lurking inside my computer, no matter how many times my antimalware program finds the files and deletes them. My advice, DO NOT BUY TWEAKBIT, it's not worth the hassle or the possible privacy invasion.
