I went to their website and  there is a form to fill out right on their homepage titled, "Run my background check".  After filling this form out "US AliasSEARCH" was automatically chosen for me as a report to be purchase with no details on what that includes or leaves out.  Once the search was ran the website states that they would need a few hours to a few days to complete the requested report.  Meaning their "instant report" claim is false.  The report was submitted at 5:22pm and the "completed" report was ready for me to review at 7:24pm.  So still fairly quick, but definitely not instant.

The completed report submitted to be from backgroundchecks.com stated that there were no offenses, criminal records, or etc found on the background check we were running.  However after running the same information on another website a large number of offenses and criminal records were found, some felonies.  After seeing this huge oversight I emailed the company the following:

"Hello,

The report #******** I received stated that there were no criminal records found, however after running the same information on another website there were quite a number of criminal records found for this report. I would like to discuss how and why this occurred, also the cost as the report was unsatisfactory in providing the information it should have.

Regards,
**********"

From there we received the following response:

"Good Morning *******-
Our system shows that report# ******** for ******************* is a database search. By selecting a database search, we search our internal database for any records that we may have received from the county or the state. If the state or the county has not given us information regarding the candidate then we will not have anything to report. We also suggest that along with the database search that you select one of our traditional searches (county criminal, statewide, and/or federal) for a more comprehensive search. With a traditional search we actually send our court runners to the actual courts to search for records.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this request, please contact a Client Relations representative toll free at 866-300-8524 or via email at service@backgroundchecks.com. Client Relations is available M-F, 7:30am-5:30pm CT. "

So I then sent the following email to service@backgroundchecks.com:

"Hello,

I was explained by one of your staff members that the search I "chose" was one that only searches the database versus a comprehensive search.  When I went onto your website there was no option to add on any comprehensive search and the "US AliasSEARCH" was the one that was automatically chosen for me.  Had you given an option or a more detailed description of this, then I would have been able to choose the comprehensive search versus wasting my money on what now has been a very unsatisfactory report.  The other website we searched found quite a bit of criminal records, including felonies, that should have been included in the report you provided for us.  I respectfully request a full refund, as the report provided for us, did not include any information except for what we already entered in.

Best,
*******"

Below is the response received:

"Good Afternoon ***** -
Unfortunately backgroundchecks.com enforces a no refund policy. Every search that is processed through our systems incurs fixed and variable costs for our organization. Whether the search results yield hundreds of offense records or details, or none at all, orders are fulfilled using the same rigorous standards and processes. We strongly suggest you check out our data coverage map for instant database searches http://www.backgroundchecks.com/ourdata/coveragemap to be knowledgeable of the information our database searches report. Also, we can also schedule you for a one on one walk through of how to use our site with one of our Client Relationship Specialists so that you can know how to order the different reports that we offer.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this request, please contact a Client Relations representative toll free at 866-300-8524 or via email atservice@backgroundchecks.com. Client Relations is available M-F, 7:30am-5:30pm CT."

In the end we paid $83.40 for a report that contained absolutely nothing that it should have.  Backgroundchecks.com is a very decptive company and would urge anyone who is doing a background check to stay away from this website.
