Balley's Total Fitness ripoff Arlington Texas

The day I filled out a form for a chance at a lifetime membership at Balley's is the worst thing I could of done!!!

I received a call a week later saying that I had only won a week membership and that I could come up and bring a friend for just the trial. When I get there I am bombarded with paperwork and managers telling me that it would be worthless to just workout for a week and tried to get me to sign a three year contract. They told me the first three payments would come directly from my account,after that, I could call and tell them that I prefer to pay in person.

I also asked them about overdrafting, which the MANAGER told me that they wait a week to two weeks before they try to make a second transaction if the first one didn't have sufficient funds. Not only did they try to take the money out of my account before the due date, my check wasn't even in my account yet and they had tried three times in three days.

I called then and told them that this was bs and that I wanted to speak to the manager who told me that they didn't do things like that. He told me that it was a mistake and that they would take me out of there system and I could just start paying in cash. It still never stopped. I HAD TO CLOSE my bank account completly cos the bank said they couldn't stop it, and that I would have to come to the bank and file a complant,which takes weeks to process, mean while my account was still being charged. Now I get there harassing calls telling me to pay them 3,000 dollars in full. They will be shut down by the time they I have that kind of money to throw away. 24 HOUR FITNESS RULES ANYWAY, NO CONTRACTS!!!!!!!!

My friend who had a three year contract, paid every month on time, at the end of the contract they told her that she could continue it for 10.00 a month or close it out completely. She chose to close it and told them that. Not only did they charge her anyway, they didn't charge her 10.00 like they said, they overdrafter her two days in a row for the 30.00 she normally had been paying instead of the 10.00 they told her if she stayed. She was on the phone in front of her boss, me ,and other co-workers two days in a row telling them that she had already closed her account the month before, they said it wasn't in there system but they would update it. Very next day she was charged again.

Called again, told them AGAIN, that she had ended her three years,didn't want it renewed,Still not in there system.Told her she had to get her boss to pull our phone records to prove she had called Balley's and told them she wasn't renewing,and bring up her bank statements showing that they had overdrafted her. Apparently they don't have there own records.

Balley's told her they would have to review the case after she writes the a letter stating her problem. So in other words, it takes them only two days to overdraft the hell out of you but 4-6 weeks to give you back your money.
