I was a long time member of Bally Fitness, and due to poor club conditions I chose not to renew my membership for the upcoming year. They got my creditcard information somehow and renewed my membership against my express order not to do so. It is very hard to get through to Bally's customer service line. My credit card company stated that Bally's is the number one problem business or service they have to deal with due to fraud.
After much delay, Bally's credited my mastercard, however weeks later than they said they would do so. They then, days later, billed my credit card again. Mastercard states it is not uncommon for Bally's to do this month after month. Bally's has filed for bankruptcy, the Maryland Attorney General's office is investigating them.
