Bally's Total Fitness Auto Renewal which the company refused to cancel Akron Ohio

I bought a one year membership with payments debited from my checking account. At the end of the year, my membership, which I had not used in months, but continued to pay for according to contract, was "automatically renewed".

A "renewal fee" of 149 dollars was debited to my account. I called to request a refund, based on non use, and was told first that I did not exist, and that if I could prove I had a membership then I could speak to someone about it. I asked how they could take money from me if I didn't exist, and the woman in Baltimore, Jackie, told me to call back when I existed.

I found my membership number and called back. I was told very rudely that there are no refunds ever and when I objected, was hung up on.
