Bally's Total Fitness Refused to Cancel my membershhip, lied about memberships Silver Spring Maryland

Bally's Total Fitness is the worst! Not only did they lie about their memberships at sign up, but their employees are rude and incompetent at the Wheaton MD gym!

At the time when I signed up over three years ago the contract that I was told I was going to sign and the one I actually signed were different. I was told that there was a college discount at the time of sign ups which I never recieved (even after I was assured that I would twice when I brought it up during the 3 months I used the gym) I feel like I was being told exactly what I wanted to hear just to sign up. As I looked around the gym, the man who was in charge of my sign up followed me around and pressured me until I signed!

I used the gym in Wheaton MD for three months and was completley unsatisfied. The employees were rude and made fun of all the patrons who were overweight. I asked for a towel once and the employee rolled their eyes and told me I was just going to have to wait. At another time I asked for more cleaning solution for the equipment and the employee left to go get some, however 5 minutes later I saw the same employee bent over the counter horsing around with a couple other employees. The gym locker room was disgusting most of the times I went.

I asked to cancel my membership and this is when I was told I was locked into my three year membership. At the time of sign up I was told that I could cancel before my three years were up and I would have to pay a cancelation fee. I asked to speak to the employee who took care of myt membership and was told he no longer worked at Bally's and that I should have thought things through before I signed up.

Now three years later I am still getting money taken out of my account. I have had to pay about $1500 and have not used Bally's once. I have tried calling the customer service line and was hung up on twice and have emailed them 5 times and have been ignored. Everytime I have talked to a customer service rep they have been extremley hostile and or have no idea what they are talking about. The way they conduct their buisness and the way they treat their customers is disgusting. DO NOT JOIN BALLY'S!!
