During my state's last gubanatorial race, I preferred one candidate over the other and arranged for Bank of America to send a monthly donation to his campaign, drawn from my bank account. After the election was over, my candidate lost, but the recurring payments are still being sent to the candidates campaign office. The office computer and phone have been disconnected and the candidate cannot be reached. I tried to cancel the donations, but Bank of America refuses to do so. Therefore, today, I'm forced to close my present bank account and open another. If you have a Bank of America account do not allow recurring payments or donations through them. They'll rip you off.

Recurring Payments

When I obtained an auto loan, I also had the payments withdrawn from my bank account by another finance company. When I paid off the loan, I requested the payments be halted. The company gladly complied. Bank of America said they must first contact the "merchant". Since the person is neither a merchant or is able to be contacted, now what? Where's the money going? Bank of America has refused to respect my request to halt payments. So, it's time for Plan B to force the issue.

So then...its YOUR account which YOU opened and YOU gave them authorization to pay an amount monthly. You claim you asked them to STOP those payments and they are REFUSING to do so?
This doesn't make sense. Quite possibly something in your story is missing.
