Bank of America I started an ATM withdrawal but then canceled it because the amount wasn't going to be enough, and the bill denominations weren't available. I was charged by the bank for the $300.00 withdrawal. When I contested it, they DENIED it TWICE! Chandler Arizona

I started an ATM withdrawal but then canceled it because the amount wasn't going to be enough, and the bill denominations weren't available. I was charged by the bank for the $300.00 withdrawal. When I contested it, they DENIED it TWICE! I have been with BofA for decades, yet I am closing all of my accounts tomorrow (worth over $700K) because of this. CRAPPY customer service. I told them they could look at the ATM video and see that I just drove away. In fact within minutes, I did a counter withdrawal from a BofA branch 2 miles up the road (which I pointed out to them btw).

If they made a mistake, you have a valid complaint. However, your narrative doesn't match your claim. So there may be a more logical explanation. Based on your narrative, there are really only 3 possibilities for the transaction. You entered in $800($500 + $300), $500 or $300. However...
If you put in $800 or $500, are you saying that they just charged you $300 by mistake? If you needed $500 why would you only put in $300?
If you needed money beyond the $300 and it didn't matter the bill denominaton for you, why didn't you just change the amount to withdraw and take out the money you needed?
This is a public site and the public may post comments as well, and those comments may not always agree with you, or bring up questions on things that are not clear. I am not now or have I ever worked for BofA or any bank. However, I would imagine these are similar questions to what you were asked by BofA and likely the same reason they denied your claim.
Good Luck

I needed $500 and also I wanted (3) $100 bills to put in a birthday card for my grandsons birthday. The machine only dispenses $10s, $20s, and $50s. When the machine asked if I wanted to "Cancel Transaction" that's what I did. Who the heck are you anyway? Do you work for BofA or do you just want to be an argumentative tool?

What in the world do you mean that the "amount wasn't going to be enough"? Then why does it matter about the bill denominations?
If it wasn't enough, then it wouldn't matter if they had the bill denominations. If they didn't have the right denmominations, what does the amount matter?
How exactly did you "Cancel" the transaction?
As for going to another branch. That doesn't mean a thing. You could have done a withdraw, got a couple blocks away and realized you needed more money and stopped at the next closest branch.
Seems like you are leaving something out.
