Have you gone to your post Finance Office for assistance? They should be able to assist you in the proper method of maintaining an accuratly reconsiled account register so that you will avoid these fees in the future.

"...Debit takes just a long to post than credit i thought debit was just like cash i comes out right away..."
- No Debit is not like cash. When you pay by cash you can not Overdraft. Debit cards may not use the same system as Credit, but it can still take a few days for the transaction to actually "post".
You didn't come out and say it but it sounds like you were probably relying on on-line banking instead of YOUR own register. Had you been keeping track of your transaction you wouldn't have spent the money(hopefully). As you found out it can take a few days for the merchant to submit the transaction, until they do the on-line system has no way of knowing that you made the purchase. However, YOU would have if you wrote it down in your check register. If you don't do this then you are going to have the same problem with what ever bank you go to.
