Bank of America took over the AAA Visa card from another bank without any notice. Bank of America's web site was out of order so on line payments were not possible.
I maile a payment 8 days before the due date to the address on the statement.
The following month I received a statement indicating I had not made my payment and was charged a $39 non payment fee and finance charges.
I called their Customer service line and was told that I would have to make payment in full before they would consider any refund of charges. I made an additional payment of now TWO months charges. They did not reverse the fees. I called again and was told that the first check was NOT received and I should stop payment on the check. I did so at a cost to me of $10 at my local bank.
The following month the CROOKS deposited my "Lost" check and then billed me another $39 plus finance charges on $250 (where the heck they got that I have no idea, as the account was closed and unused.)
This time when I called BS CS and was told I had to pay the returned item fee because my check was returned. EVEN THOUGH MY ACCOUNT SHOWED A $450 CREDIT. I was then told I could not talk to a supervisor but one would call me in a couple of days.
Guess what? No call, No Credit. Is Bank of America owned by Al Quieda?

Roger,
I use the BofA online banking every day, sometimes several times per day. I have not seen it down in a very long time. And, when it is, the downtime is very short which would allow you to go back in and do your business.
AND, when the site is down, you can always call toll free and do your transaction over the phone. For free!
Furthermore, it was not without notice that they took over your account. Federal law requires at least 30 day notice prior to the change where you can accept it, or decline it and close your account. The notice was in that stuff you get with your statement that gets thrown away.
