Bank Of Oklahoma ripoff Worthless Bankcards Midwest City Oklahoma

I opened my Bank of Oklahoma account about a month and a half ago. I've NEVER overdrawn my account or even come CLOSE to being zeroed out-but there have been SEVERAL instances where my bankcard doesn't work in the store's card readers. It will decline the card, leaving me looking worthless and stupid standing there fumbling for another means of paying my debt while people around me whisper and give me ugly looks. I have decided that due to this re-occuring issue, I'm going to close my account with them - I just wanted to let those who are thinking of using BOk know that their service is mediocre at best and their VISA bank cards are worthless.

I've even gone to an Albertson's with a Bank of Oklahoma inside and tried to pay for my groceries in one of the self checkout lanes and it's declined me. It doesn't give an error message - it flat out declines it - just like it would if you were to have insufficient funds in your account. Talk about embarrasing! I walked right across to the ATM and pulled out what I needed no problem. I've tried doing it as a credit transaction and a debit transaction -- it doesn't work either way some places. I even went into one store that had a sign on the checkout counter that specifically said "WE ARE NOT ABLE TO PROCESS BANK OF OKLAHOMA CARDS" That's pretty sad. I will NEVER go back to BOK -- And I'm going to tell everyone I can about this.

SIDE NOTE--I've also had issues with the bill pay feature of their online banking service. I paid one of my utilities and it took nearly 2 weeks for it to post to the account I paid. I ended up being charged late fees to go along with the monthly bill.

My husband uses Arvest bank here in MWC - and we've never had ANY problems with them. Their card works everywhere and their online banking is super easy to use. It does take 7 days to process an online payment, but many credit card companies and just about all the utility companies get their payment the same day that it debits out of your bank account. That's a MAJOR plus for us! The only reason I even opened the BOK account was because I'd used them in the past and forgotten why I closed it....NOW I remember. ha
