Barewire LTd. Adept Help, Czone Charged me to eliminate virus and malware from my Dell laptop Dorking, Surrey, RH5, 4RL England

Initially I got the same drop down blue screen that a lot of other victims are reporting, instructing me to contact the toll free Microsoft support number before my hard drive was infected with viruses and malware.  I bought the anti-virus software and a support program good for a year.  The first time I phoned with another issue, I was told my Windows 10 was outdated (?) and they would upgrade it for me while they fixed the so-calle porblem.  (This was yet an additional charge.)  Since each time I phoned for support there was always another charge waiting in the wings, I began to grow suspicious.  But the topper was todsy when I called, the tech (whose Anglo name kept changing each time I spoke with him) insisted there was now something wrong with the HARD drive and for an additional $499 he'd be happy to clean that up for me.  I might not be the most tech-savvy person in the book, but when scammers begin to get THIS greedy, the red flags start popping up all over.  

What finally saved me from going any further?  He could not get anything to work; my Internet kept freezing up and I lterally had to keep powering down the whole system.  I must have gotten a half dozen call backs as these tech guru's attempted to fix another big problem my poor little Dell fell provy to.

Meanwhile, I began doing a little of my own sleuthing online to discover that this company has been under some severe scrutiny and accused of pretty widespread and far-reaching FRAUD.

My next question: What is the recourse for people like me who've been unwittingly sucked in?
